What a wonderful place nessled up in nature and away from the big city.

I lovced the comunity vibe and how friendly everyone was. It was very welcoming and the hosts were exceptional in making the kids feel like they'd achieved a huge amount of valour in hiking the path up to the stay. The hikes in the area are also wonderful and worthwile. we had a swim at one of the waterfalls on the way out to refresh. There was also a cable car (only for luggage) that took our luggage up saving us the walk all the way up with the kids.

We made the mistake of only arriving at 8pm and the hike up to the accomodation was at least 1hour with the kids so we hiked most of it in the dark. That was our own mistake though and We'll definitly be back with more time to do the hike up :)

Breath of fresh air with a lovely view

The location and tranquility are wonderful. If you need some time away from everything this is the perfect place. The rooms are rustic and we stayed in a nice separate building with a large balcony.

The Spiritual Népal of the Valle Cannobina

Stéphane and his family are very welcoming hosts. Specificaly designed for "Nature-Lovers", this secret Mountain retreat is all and more that it promises. As secluded as a Monastery, getting there is the hardest part as everything makes you wish you were staying longer. Authentic to the traditions it was built upon, it holds a strong story which is linked to the inspiring story of the Valley. Multi-cultural and pluri-lingual, the people you will find there are as special as the hike to get there : it is an amazing meeting point, not very far from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Civilization and Wilderness.

The Hike and the Place are as promised for Nature Lovers only. It is both the best and the most complicated part of this place as no motivation and desire will make up for the skills required to hike through a mountain. This is why Stefano and the Locals of Orasso can and will be there to guide you.

We`ve spent almost two weeks at the Secret Retreat far from people and close to the nature. We're unbothered and left in peace, which was immensely precious for us. This place is a pure magic if you love simplicity and don`t mind being surrounded by lizards, squirrels, Owls and Bats. We gathered herbs and drank this beautiful water from the source...

It IS secret paradise!

It was a truly wonderful experience, to walk from orasso to bognago, being welcomed by these nice people in their peaceful place with an interesting history . And after a good night rest, walk from there to spoccia next day, a beautiful 3-4 hour walk with lunch in the middle at a small nice bar. And than as a big bonus on the way back, dive in the wild river , being oxygenated , purified by the crystal clear water of the bassins and waterfalls. Wow!

Un FERRAGOSTO DI PURO RELAX

Caricata la teleferica e parcheggiato la macchina nel paesino di Orasso, io, mia figlia e i nostri 2 border collie ci siamo incamminate sul sentiero per raggiungere Secret Mountain. Un sentiero impegnativo ma fattibile da tutti gli amanti della natura della durata di un'oretta. Camere semplici e pulite, personale e volontari sempre disponibili.La sveglia con il canto del gallo e il suono di una grande conchiglia che rimbalzava per tutta la valle richiamava al pranzo e alla cena. La poca connessione a internet concede spazio alla conoscenza di nuove persone, tutte raccolte per pranzo e cena intorno ad una lunga tavolata in marmo 🤩 Nei dintorni il torrente e sentieri per passeggiate. Ritornerò 💚

Een onaangenaam verblijf in een prachtige omgeving

De locatie is prachtig. De Nepalese gastvrouw is erg vriendelijk.

De uitbater is een arrogante, onvriendelijke norse man die geen enkel belang hecht aan vriendelijk ontvangst. Hij verwijt de klanten dat hij vroeg uit bed moet. Het gebouw is onderkomen en vraagt voor een grondige opknapbeurt. Het eten is matig.
