Comfortable Apartment in Prime Position and Hospitable Host

Easy communication with Davor meant he was able to meet us immediately outside the apartment. He’d secured a parking spot in the street with his own car and we just swapped places. Davor uses an app to pay for parking (only available on a local phone number) so we just repaid him in euro (2euro per half day). We made a long detour to visit Subotica to see the Art Nouveau architecture and weren’t disappointed - except we’d have preferred to have stayed two nights instead of one. Davor’s apartment is in a prime position in the centre of the city with a view across the road to a park (and our parked car). It’s on the first floor with very high ceilings, in a typical 19th century European apartment building with a central courtyard and wide marble stairs. We found it very comfortable, with contemporary furnishings and all we needed for our short stay. There are several restaurants and bars in the street behind the apartment that can be quickly accessed through a hotel courtyard if you don’t want to cook. But as always, the icing on the cake was the interaction with our host, Davor, who was available to answer any questions, extend our parking and come to our help in the evening at very short notice. The apartment is next door to a beautiful Art Nouveau building, now an art gallery (cash only) and only a couple of minutes to the City Hall that does daily tours at mid-day (cash only), starting at the tourist office in the City Hall. Both worthwhile visiting.

Would be our first choice if we return to Subotica.

The place was wonderful! Better than we had expected. The location is right in the heart of Subotica and you walk out on the pedestrian mall. The room was a suite; like a 1-bedroom apartment. We especially appreciated the washing machine. We also liked being in an older building which seemed full of history.

Excellent place and lovely host.

The apartment is perfectly located in the city centre. Everything is with walking distance . The apartment is perfectly clean with great attention to details. Beds are comfortable and bedsheets were crisp and neat. The owner is very hospitable and ready to accommodate all requests. WiFi was super fast and all kitchen amenities were super clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend this place and host
