Cozy Family Cottage at the Lake

Let me just start by saying that we had a wonderful Easter at this lovely cottage near the lake :-). It was truly refreshing, to spend these few days in nature, without the usual city crowds and the noisiness that comes with it. We got to wake up early, take it slow, and listen to the birds’ singing whilst we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the terrace. The lake - which is just a 2 minute walk from the cottage - is calm and beautiful this time of the year / although a bit too cold for swimming! And, oh, the village is just so nice to walk around in - it really allows you to re-energise at your own pace. Thomas, our host, made sure that we had plenty of supply and we appreciated the bottle of Hungarian rosé wine waiting for us - thanks for the nice touch! Overall, I can confidently say that the cottage is fully equipped with everything you may need, whether it’s a short stay or a longer one during the summertime. And, if you were to run out, there’s also an all-year-round, well-stocked supermarket you can go to - it’s just a 5 min drive! As for the local supermarket (called ABC), this one opens in early June / and the many restaurants as well as the ice cream shop near the beginning of May. Then, lastly, I also want to mention how easily it is to access the city centre of Siofok (basically, the capital of Balaton); it’s really just about 10 minutes by car, and once you arrive you’re immediately met with a variety of restaurants, shopping facilities, and - most importantly - a beautiful park and promenade along the shore. I’m glad we got to have this trip, as it wasn’t just a recharging holiday but almost like a spiritual journey. So! We’ll definitely return for a longer stay - hopefully sometime during summer or early autumn. Thank you for having us.

Der garten ist sehr schön und groß.

Remek elhelyezkedésű nyaraló egy csendes utcában, 150 méterre a központtól, 200 méterre a strandtól. A ház hangulata varázslatos, a falidíszek elragadóak. Nagyszerűen ötvözi a retro érzést a modern felszereltséggel. Minden van, mintha otthon lettünk volna! A szállásadók mindenben kedvesen segítenek, ami a leírásban szerepel, az csak az alapfelszereltség, sokkal többet nyújt a szállás. A grillsütő a hátsó árnyékos kertben remek, a hőségben itt nagyon kellemes sütögetni és enni. Autóval be lehet állni az udvarba, ahol szinte egész nap árnyék van. Kutyával ideális szálláshely. A közeli szupermarketben minden megtalálható, az árak nem tükrözik, hogy a Balaton partján van. Mi legtöbbször a HB Sörkertben vacsoráztunk. Csak ajánlani tudjuk! Nincs nagy választék, de minden finom és friss. Itt és a környező éttermekben esténként élőzene van, de egyáltalán nem zavaró. A strandra célszerűnyitáskor lemenni, egész napos jeggyel ebedelni is pár percre van a ház, aztán vissza lehet menni strandolni. I stayed in this holiday home a year ago and I was very stasified, so I returned this October with my husband for a weekend. We were lucky with the weather and culd enjoy the sunshine of the Indian Summer on the terrace just as last time. There is a lot of improvement regarding the facilities in the Cottage: I found a high performance airco with heating function, a very powerful portable electric radiator, which made a good service heating up the bedroom before we wnet to sleep./ I had to switch it off after half an hour, because the temperature reached 27-28C already./ Although the Lake was too cold to swim it was very relaxing to walk around in the quietness of the holiday village. There is small grocery store in 2 min walk form the house, which was open even at this time of the year, so I could do my daily shopping without driving to Siofok center / only 10 minutes by car/. All in all we had a great our-time with my husband and we surely will return next year again.,:)
