What could have been..

A very relaxing experience spent in Scotland in a very quiet location. Facilities and grounds kept to a high cleanliness and great appearance. Staff easy going and friendly. Pool, gym and cafe super clean, well looked after and welcoming vibe. Location to beaches and forest walks is EXCELLENT

Our accomodation was a bit.. rough around the edges and hanging together. 1 out of 3 spot lights in the kitchen worked. Bath fixtures damaged and held in place some hoe. Outdated furniture covers. Uncomfortable mattresses. A lack of kitchen equipment gear - peeler, grater, masher - salt and pepper. Odd number of plates and bowls etc. Not the same amount. Windows very tough to open and close. Living room door very hard to open and close (sticks to carpet on right side) The most uncomfortable mattress in the bedroom with an en suite too. Amenities being closed on New year's day was the big blow for us. This information not advertised nor stated when we booked the holiday. Having access to these amenities was the soul reason we booked this remote location and it left us with a very different experience than we expected for a full day of nothing to use on site.. considering we travelled such a long way for 3 full days on the park and for 1 day all amenities to not be open, was gutting! We really appreciate staff need a break over the festive period but this wasn't made clear to us on booking the holiday but discovered on arrival by billboard at reception. Deposits.. the need to ask for cash deposits to use ping pong and pool table was crazy. Just ask residents for their accommodation key or leave an item at reception such as a phone or car key IF the clients don't have access to cash at the time. Putting green was great but needs advertising to the public.

Enjoyable week

We found the cottage to be well equipped. We had no problems with hot water supply and the heating worked fine. There were enough plates and cutlery. Heating was easy to use. The facilities in the centre were excellent as were the staff there. The staff were all really lovely and helpful. All communication was timely and useful. The cottage does require some TLC (like new carpet in lounge) but overall we had an enjoyable week.

The lounge requires some new furniture. The beds were very firm and I prefer soft but that is a personal preference.

Salvita Cottage

Lovely cottage. Clean and comfortable with everything you need.

The only real issue was the road around the park. Although potholes had been filled in, there were huge drain covers we had to avoid to save any damage to the car. I realise this is probably not your responsibility.

Basic but affordable for good location

Location good, place was clean.

The lady on reception was fairly rude. The accommodation is very tired and basic. 6 guests booked, yet not enough cutlery. No oven trays - hopeless. The water tank was a nightmare, cold showers two days in a row for most of us. Radiators are difficult to work and go from freezing to an uncomfortable sauna.

Nearly Perfect

Property was clean and warm. Shop nearby. The staff are excellent, can't do enough for you. Facilities on site very good.

No welcome pack (3 tea bags/2 sachets of coffee why bother) ?, not even dish cloth , had to go to local store to purchase bin liners and basics, . Limited cooking equipment(pizza cutter and cutting boards), no batteries in remote controls. Light bulbs very dim.Shame, because the property is great, just lacking the little things that would make the difference. Looking a little tired, carpets, furniture. Needs cleaning.

Disappointing due to part of the shower door being broken therfore it couldn't be used.

The location is nice and peaceful but a bit far from places to eat etc. The cottage was clean and comfortable.

Due to the cottage being privately owned and not owned by the site owners, any repairs cant be done unless given clearance by the owners which takes longer than it should do. There are burn marks on one of the bedroom carpets which looks bad , although I do understand it was probably done by a visitors straighteners.

Communication with the host was very good. They responded to our calls/texts very quickly 👍. Everything was as described. Pool was great.

For the time of year, we felt the cost of our 2 night stay could have been cheaper. There was little to do on site and perhaps this could be considered for families.

Location was good, kitchen fitted out with everything you would need to cook for a family. Just need to take along some food and all good to go. Well kept surroundings.

The carpet was very run down if this was updated would have made a huge difference to the cottage. Shower also very small.

Superb

The location is lovely and peaceful and close enough to a great beach and walks and shops. The centre is great with couple of bits to do for kids and the pizza was very nice. The cottage was great perfect for our family very clean and roomy enough and well equipped for a weeks stay. The balcony was nice to sit out without being overlooked etc. We would definitely stay again it was a perfect week in a lovely cottage.

The swimming pool time allocation was difficult with young children especially one with extra needs. Whilst we understood covid has caused issues you are only given 40 minutes to get undressed, store your stuff in lockers, swim and then get out, get stuff out, dry off and dressed again which means they only really get about a 20 minute dip which isn't really worth it for them. Also found the pool water to be a bit cold for a baby.
