Milena's Country House

Another excellent stay in at Milena's Country House - the house is beautiful maintaining a country charm while also having modern touches. The view from the balcony is amazing. George and Sofia are excellent hosts, friendly and welcome. We will definitely be back :-) Pelekas is also a great location to stay, village location but with several cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

We had a really good time staying here. The house looks freshly renovated and has modern amenities, good air conditioning, blackout shutters and insect nets on all bedrooms, two fully equipped bathrooms and all nicely integrated within. It really looks like a live-in place and not something built for renting. The terrace has an AMAZING view going all the way to mainland, looking nice both during the day and the night - we had all our breakfasts and dinners there. There is a shop nearby, two bakeries, some restaurants and a rooftop bar. The caretaker, Sofia, was VERY helpful and you might want to check in with her to arrange for transport from the airport, renting a car or other local services.

Though not a fault of the owner, the location is not that great - access is made through a moderately steep alleyway that makes it a bit difficult with luggage or old people. The nearest car park si about 400m away on foot, and you definitely need a car as the bus runs only every two hours and there is no beach within walking distance. Also, the nearby rooftop bar sometimes plays loud music that reflects off of buildings and is heard outside the house. The windows can shut out the noise but if you like sleeping with windows open, it can be bothersome.

The house is in the pretty little village of Pelekas. The view from the terrace is lovely and the aerial display from the swallows was mesmerising. Shutters in the bedroom windows kept them dark & quiet. Two decent shower rooms.
