Akis Apartments Kontogialos-Pelekas

The owner George is fantastic - so friendly and helpful, brought us fresh bread everyday, recommended taxis, car hire and other services, and the apartment was spotlessly clean, with the cleaner coming each day to take out the bins and clean the bathroom. Air con in both bedrooms and when one broke, George brought a large fan which was appreciated until the air con was fixed. 5mins walk down a steep hill to a beautiful beach, which has sun loungers for EUR20 for 2 and decent restaurants/bars, sandy with crystal clear waters, absolutely gorgeous and the nicest beach we found on the island, also not too busy. Nice large fridge freezer provided, and outside there are stands and lines for drying swimming things. Gorgeous views from a shared patio / terrace over the sea, and a little supermarket 2mins from the apartments which is open till late everyday and sells everything you need including hats, sea shows, games etc.

Small things: the apartments are a little dated and from the photos I thought we would have a living room area (so felt a slightly deflated on arrival). Our apartment was just two bedrooms, bathroom and the very small kitchenette was in the 2nd bedroom (so in the room with our kids). However, as we were hardly there and the little shared terrace is nice to sit on with great views of the sea, this didn't matter and we were able to make good breakfasts and a dinner on one evening. The road into the village is very, very steep and quite tricky to drive on - we did it, but even a taxi driver told us they hate going up/down it, so worth bearing in mind if you find this kind of thing stressful! The rest of the roads in Corfu can be steep and winding, but much easier to navigate.

Zum Frühstück hat man immer Brot bekommen mit Marmelade und Butter :) die Lage war perfekt, 5 min vom Strand entfernt. George ist der herzlichste und hilfsbereiteste Gastgeber!! Sehr außergewöhnlich.

L'emplacement est super. L'hôte aussi. La région est magnifique. La plage et ses restaurants sont très bien. La localisation centrale est très commode pour aller d'un bout à l'autre de l'île et à la ville de Corfou, parce que les distances sont courtes et les trajets longs........

La cuisine est minuscule et son équipement aussi. Les routes pour y arriver sont très étroites et en mauvais état. La plage est très belle et agréable, très proche, sauf lorsque l'on veut y accéder.
