The house is big and well equipped with comfortable beds and bathrooms. The dining room is a fantastic space that we all greatly enjoyed. The garden is gorgeous, and the location is both peaceful and beautiful, with just a hint of road noise in the distance. Enniscorthy is very close and there is easy access to many fun places including the beaches. We stayed 2 weeks and want to especially thank the cleaners for coming in on the middle Saturday and leaving the place sparkling. The only minor problem we had was that the living room was a little musty on arrival which triggered allergies for one of us. As we aired out the space that improved.

My husband and I spent 10 days at Salville House. The house has SO much character and style all while keeping to its roots of being an old manor. The house has 4 beds, 3 larger and 1 small bed, 3 total showers (2 in bath tubs, 1 standard stall), and enough toilets/bathrooms for you, your family, and the neighbors if necessary! The dining room is spectacular and posh, the front sitting/TV room is equally large but has a fairly small TV for such a large room. The kitchen is very functional but some of the cookware could use replacing. As is stated in the listing, there is WiFi throughout the house (we only found a few dead spots), but is *definitely* not high-speed...it caps out at about 35mbps...enough for web browsing and YouTube videos, but only if 1 or 2 people are streaming videos. The only real complaint I would have is the beds. They are *very* firm. The small bed is softer, but is still fairly firm. The resident that lives in the attached rear area was quiet and could only hear him if standing near the 2 doors that lead into his living space (they're locked).Any communication sent to the hosts/owners was responded to in short order which is an added bonus as not all hosts communicate well.All-in-all, with a few minor changes, this would have been a perfect stay, but we are *not* disappointed in the least! We hope to return on our next visit or the visit after as the location worked well for a jumping point for many places to visit.

Our stay at the Irish Mansion was a wonderful experience for our family group of five. The mansion itself is beautiful, with spacious rooms, a very well-equipped kitchen, and a stunning dining room. When we first arrived there was a problem with the heating, but it was addressed immediately by Daniel and the local tradesperson; it was working perfectly within a day. A mansion of this size is potentially not easy to heat, but it was always the right temperature for us, especially in the chilly mornings. We toured the Wexford area from this location and saw so much, attending the Wexford Opera Festival, visiting Kilkenny and the Hook Head Lighthouse, and always finishing our days with a lovely family meal in the elegant dining room. We hope to return to the Irish Mansion some day again - it was truly a magical experience!

I stayed with my two daughters and had a lovely time. The place is extremely spacious and nicely decorated and the kitchen is fab. Having the games room was a pleasure and we learned to play darts. It’s quiet but close enough to the town for supplies and the garden is beautiful.
I would definitely recommend it and would go back.

Another lovely stay in Salville which has become a real home from home. The wet weather didn’t bother us as we spent cosy afternoons reading and watching movies in the beautiful sitting room and evenings cooking up a storm in the fab kitchen. As always, Dan and Irene were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

Very large and beautiful property in the Irish country. Good location to the southern coast. This property was perfect for our group and the different rooms were spacious and comfortable. The large kitchen and dining area were great for a medium sized group of people. Highly recommend this property for seeking a quiet location for a holiday.

Lovely, comfortable house, although the sleigh bed was thought to be a little too firm. There was everything that you could conceivably need (except a measuring jug). Everything taken into consideration, it was a fabulous place to stay. Wonderful house and gardens and perfectly situated to see other areas and beaches. Our hosts were always accessible by email before our trip and we have no doubt that should we wish to visit the area again, we would be very happy to stay at Salville House again and also recommend it to friends.

Very comfortable, very quiet. Only a few minutes drive from town. The house itself has a very interesting and varied history.
Plenty of interesting places to visit in and around the area. We definitely enjoyed our one week stay and would recommend.

A lovely period property with a homely feel and plenty of space and seclusion but still near to local amenities. Our home will feel tiny after staying here. Very good communication from Dan and Irene the owners of the house. Thank you very much

Wonderful and old, with lots of charm--main house dates from the early nineteenth century, so it is of course showing its age too. It is not a "modernized" version of what once was. But all the essentials work well (bathrooms, kitchen), the views are spectacular across acres of wheat, and while the walk into town is not quick, it is very pleasant, as is Enniscorthy. Vehicle needed, but bicycles also work. And it is easy to get on the expressways and travel afar.

Absolutely beautiful house and grounds and central location to so many things to do
Salville House is a beautiful house and a wonderful location. It is central to so many different touristy things each day. Nothing was further than a half hour drive, 1798 Rebellion museum, Vinegar hill, the Castle, Secret Wildlife, National Heritage park not to mention the whole Kennedy experience and famine ships in New Ross. We enjoyed eating out and eating in, in equal measure the kids loved the play room we spent many hours in the evening competing in darts and football. Thank you so much Dan and Irene, we will be back again for sure

I did not want to leave what was a very effortlessly comfortable and lovely stay in just beautiful surroundings both inside and out. Hosts Dan & Irene were just a dream to deal with and if you are fortunate, as we were, to bump into Jim the grounds-man do engage him in conversation as he will quite happily impart a wealth of knowledge of all things local. Did I mention that the ceiling heights made me swoon......? Salville is a house you can just immediately fall in love with. I am smitten.

We had a lovely stay at this charming house set in its own gardens in a very peaceful location. We were just the two of us so had plenty of space and each our own bathroom.
We loved the old house and impressive rooms. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed.

The house is a huge old mansion house. Well maintained and we’ll equipped. The gardens are lovely and the views very pleasant. The only negative we have is the fact that there are tenants sharing the residence. The two parts of the house are locked off but it did raise security concerns for us. This fact should be disclosed in the property summary. No privacy issues other than occasional loud music.

Salville is absolutely perfect. We had a month's stay, using it as our home base. We couldn't have been happier. Dan and Irene couldn't have been nicer, working with us when we had an arrival conflict.
This place is fantastic and the location is secluded and private.
Best place we've ever stayed.

We spent a week in Salville House and a very enjoyable week it was. The house is fantastic. The amount of space is ridiculous and we loved the old style feel of a lot of the fittings. The beds and bedding ensured superb sleeping, The kitchen is very well equipped. We loved eating in the dining room, which gave meal times a feeling of grandeur. The drawing room, TV room and games room all added to a relaxing stay. The outside space was great, especially as we had such good weather for our stay. One major plus is that the house is pet friendly and it was quite safe to let the dog roam the gardens. He had a great time. Thankfully it was dry for our stay so we didn't have the worry of wet paws going into the house.
All in all, I would recommend Salville House as a place to stay.

As we have stayed twice before we know how good this lovely old house and garden are..... but this time we had a fabulous time as we got married during our stay and salville was a fabulous place to celebrate with our wedding group of 6 . The peaceful house with its old world charm and the picturesque gardens really made the day special . Although the kitchen facilities are great as it was a special week for us we had the food for our wedding day and subsequent days supplied by the excellent Westgate design catering in Wexford .No cooking -it was bliss and would be ideal for any week / event in salville when you didn’t feel like cooking .The photographer on the day was pawel Bebenca .... All in all a fabulous stress free week . Barbara

This is one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed - I didn't want to leave! The house is wonderful - large, beautifully-decorated rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a big garden. It has everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. Communication with the host was outstanding. I cannot recommend the house highly enough, and I hope to return sometime soon.

We had a lovely week at Salville House. What a charming old house, steeped in history and with everything anyone would need for a relaxing week. Despite the weather, there's plenty to do in the area and our three teenagers didn't want to leave. We'll be back!

We stayed at salville last week to celebrate my partners birthday . We had a fabulous week . It is a beautiful house with such a peaceful feeling from the moment you walk in the door . We lit a great big fire every evening and that along with central heating meant we were so cosy . I cooked a dinner on my partners birthday and we and a few friends dined in the elegant dining room laughed and chatted . The house has everything you could wish for .. we were sad to leave but shall return next year for my 60th hopefully !!!

Sumptuousness without the Decadence
Sumptuousness without the Decadence
It was clear to us, as a middle-aged English 'normal' couple whose children recently 'flew the nest', such that we were at last on our own for our Spring holiday, when we first arrived at Salville House that it 'spoke' of the classes to our immediate 'north'. Amusingly, if you ever have the fortune to visit this exquisite property, you will notice upon the moribund (sob...) AGA a framed magazine article about its, presumably, previous existence as some sort of gastronomic sanctuary to the well-heeled of Wexford, that it's quaintly referred to as a 'small house'. We found that somewhat hilarious because, Salville House, by any 'normal' standard is absolutely huge.
It's one of those houses, again for people like us that happen to inhabit in our native Kent the simplicity of a three-storey Georgian Townhouse of relatively limited proportions, which soars in proportion, particularly vertically. The ceiling heights on both the ground and first floors (Americans please note; the first and second), are monstrously enormous. Simply put: one finds oneself roaming the house with very little purpose, just to acquire a random book or a randomly discarded pair of socks from the previous evening. The grounds themselves are devilishly and quintessentially gorgeous. Birdsong is everywhere and the view to the Slaney river is disarming in its pulchritude. So what did we do each early evening, during our ten-night-stay: this newly Irish-cultured (from England; oh and by the way my wife is genetically quarter Irish understandably on a 'pilgrimage') middle-aged couple, surrounded as we were, with all manner of Wexford treasures? We played Darts. Yes Darts Ladies and Gentlemen. Every evening with our Gin And tonics at Seven O Clock, VULGAR DARTS, (to any Americans, this is like sort of shooting at animals but without the guns: you just sort of shoot at mathematical constructs: for us mere English: most enjoyable). Look we've literally just landed back in England from the Emerald Isle, via Wales obviously, and all is fine. So to conclude everyone; in our humble opinion: Salville House is the epitome of justifiable magnificence in every aspect. If you arrive at this beautiful property, you will probably never want to leave it, ever.

wunderbare Tage in Irlands sonnigen Herbst
wunderbare Tage in Irlands sonnigen Herbst
