Horrible breakfast. Unedible.

The location is great, you can go to a huge plaza in less than 5 minutes. Overall well maintained, the rooms are spacious and clean.

Staff were terrible. When we arrived for our check in there was a receptionist that you can see that lacks training. He didn’t greet us, when we provided our card for payment he right away said that is was declined and it is not true, because we’re Canadians and we have a US credit card we needed to authorize the transaction, that’s how it works. And on top of all, the BO coming from this young man was terrible…this had to be addressed by management. When we were leaving for our check out we had to disturb the receptionist that was chatting on face time, you could clearly see that we were interrupting him on his call. And one last event was the lady that takes care of breakfast also on her cellphone chatting with earbuds all the time during work. We were surprised how badly managed and trained all the staff was. To finalize it, when we were about to leave we asked if we could leave our luggage and pick them up later, the guy that was on the phone instantly said that he would not take any responsibility and staff would change all the time. We travel a lot and we always stay in this hotel category, it was the first time that we had this answer/incovenience. Definitely not coming back to La Quinta in Amherst.

The location was ok. It was easy to get to and from. The ac in our room wasn’t working properly so they gave us a new room. It accommodated our basic needs.

The breakfast wasn’t that great. We went to check out the pool to take advantage of it while we were there and as soon as we walked in we noticed the pool water was very foamy and smelled strongly of chlorine. We did not use the pool after that.
