This "Little Garden by the Sea" (Mala Pu’a Ma Ke Kai) is a sweet spot in the heart of Hanalei. 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths plus an outdoor shower. This home is for sale, so this is your chance to test your new piece of paradise. 48 hour notice given for showing requests.

Come and get your big dose of Polynesian Paralysis - it's hard to resist. The home is perfectly situated between Hanalei Bay and the quaint town of Hanalei. The natural setting and the gardens that surround the home will bring a sense of serenity, privacy and joy for your family's special time together. Enjoy your meals or a good book on the covered lanai with its oversized dining table and comfortable benches, chairs and lounges. Wander around the corner to the Farmer's Market on Saturday. Enjoy walks on Hanalei Bay day or night! Summer time swimming or winter time surfing make Hanalei a perfect year round destination. The chef's kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances.
The living room has plenty of comfortable seating and a large flat screen TV.
Two of the bedrooms have King beds and the third bedroom has 2 twins.
There is a Propane BBQ grill, beach chairs & towels and a hot & cold outdoor shower.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I loved the location so much! The place could def use some updates (tv was not super intuitive) & got really hot all day & was hot at night during sleep. We knew it was a spot with no AC so that’s on us but it was hard to get a solid nights rest. One of the rooms (main one) felt extra hot so we stayed in the other thankfully (it was just two of us). It felt a bit overpriced for the state of the home but generally it was great because of how close it was to everything in Hanalei! Also worth noting that there’s no tolerance for sand in the home! Def took extra thought to be sure we didn’t let any in, considering proximity to the beach. Thanks for having us!

Overall, this is a very nice property and in line with most of what I saw around Hanalei Bay. The location is ideal—just a short walk to both downtown and the beach—which made it very convenient. The view from the patio is amazing and a perfect spot to enjoy a meal.The best part of the whole place is definitely the outdoor shower—it was such a great feature and really added to the experience.The home itself is a bit older, and while some things didn’t work perfectly, it wasn’t a big issue since we weren’t spending much time inside. There’s no air conditioning, so it can get warm, especially if you’re cooking, but there are plenty of fans that help keep things comfortable. That said, the fans were quite dirty, which was disappointing.One area that could really improve the experience would be the beach accessories. The chairs, toys, and cart were all rusted and in poor condition. Updating those items would make a noticeable difference for guests.On the positive side, the landlord was very kind and responsive, which we really appreciated. Despite a few minor drawbacks, we would definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed at this charming house in Hanalei and overall had a delightful experience. The location was just perfect - walkable to all the shops and the beach. The house itself was great - very comfortable. Beautiful private yard and large covered lanai with a large dining table to eat outside. The kitchen was stocked! Anything you need, you will find it! Need a garlic press? There were TWO! I did read another review stating the equipment looked like it was from a thrift shop - and that may be, it was a bit worn, but I was not expecting brand new everything. I loved having the variety - worked perfectly for us as we cooked every night. I also loved that they had a compost bin (we compost at home and I loved the ability to continue my usual habits). There are 3 bedrooms - the one with 2 twins also has a large desk (was convenient for my husband who had to take a few work calls). There were a few minor issues - the oven was not super clean and the dishwasher latch did not work, therefore we had to wash most dishes by hand. The furniture could use an upgrade, but most places we have rented in Kauai in this price range are similar. These were not dealbreakers for me and to be fair, I did try to call the property management company to alert them, missed the call back and did not try again. I was enjoying my vacation too much to bother with the small things! Despite these issues, I would recommend the house and would definitely stay here again!

The photos are old and show a bright home, it is not in reality. This is the 7th home we've rented in Hanalei, so I've had others to compare this 1 to. The furniture is VERY shabby, dated, faded & worn, especially on the lanai, which is where you want to spend time, not inside, that's for sure! Every chair cushion is faded & mildewed. Such a disappointment when you first enter the home! The floors are a dark cherry & seem to suck all the natural light out. Dingy walls, needs a fresh coat of paint. Rugs are grimy feeling, dark, dated and should be thrown out. Owners clutter is everywhere! Ugh, tote bins full of their stuff in every closet, bathroom cabinet full of their old stuff, just gross! The kitchen pans, dishes, glasses feel like they came from a thrift store. The very responsive property manager was kind enough to bring us new bed pillows, wine glasses & frying pans. No headboard on 1 of the beds, the "Beach Equipment" room is full of junk! Broken boogie boards, rusty never maintained bike, etc. Old garden hoses, 2X4s, roof tiles, worn out patio furniture & other junk greet you when you pull your car into the carport, a pleasant aloha spirit guest experience is definitely not on this homeowners mind. Nothing is high end here except the price we paid and the location. If you truly don't care about the interior and just want to be 5 houses from town and 6 houses to the beach, book it!!

We loved staying at this property. Stayed with 2 kiddos and it was nice to be able walk to all the places around town. Only downside was the bedrooms that face the street were a little loud from foot traffic.

The house was wonderful and had amazing outdoor spaces. A very large covered lanai with a table that seats 8 people and is on the second floor - where all fo the living spaces are - that has private views out to the mountains and the great backyard with beautiful gardens.
