Comfy, stylish night in a beautiful town.

The room was superbly decorated, with breakfast in the morning delicious with homemade pastries and condiments. The best part was the welcoming hosts who could not do enough for us. We only stayed for 1 night at the beginning of our trip around France but it was a lovely place to relax after a long drive. Bed was really comfy with high class amenities in the room.

The host and hostess were delightful. The wife spoke English well enough to for someone who did not speak French to speak with and the husband, who spoke virtually none, was happy to chat with me about a wide variety of subjects, particularly his garden. The hot chocolate was homemade and delicious, and their cat Albert was happy to give us our cat fix far from our own. The town was well-situated for excursions to the castles in the Loire Valley, and there were restaurants available about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

It was difficult to find the hotel. We circled past it a number of times before calling the hosts, who met us at the bottom of an unmarked tiny driveway leading up to the hotel. it was difficult to make the tight turn out of the hotel courtyard to drive down the driveway to leave the hotel, but the host was more than happy to serve as our ground guide. The room was very small with two flights of very tight spiral stairs to reach it. I believe that our host May have helped us with our luggage, but can’t remember for sure.

Comfortable relaxed stay with great hosts - on a 10 minute walk from the town

Beautiful house in walking distance (10 mins) from Loches centre. Two wonderfully decorated rooms on the second floor, both with airco. We had a well laid out breakfast even with home made (on request!) rhubarbe compote, straight from the shady secluded garden. Bernard and Isabelle were very welcoming hosts to us - we felt at ease from the first moment.

Bernie and Isobel were so welcoming and helpful. The property was lovely. The rooms were spotless and the beds really comfy. The whole place had a lot of character and the breakfast was fresh straight from the boulangerie. An exceptionally pleasant stay and loaches was a lovely place to visit and within a short walking distance. Would love to return.

Very charming room in town of Loches, not far from chateau.

Very charming room! I like a place with ambience, and this definitely had it. There was quality artwork on the walls of the staircase, and a garden where I could sit and look at the church of the chateau de Loches not far away. The hosts were very accommodating. Plenty of towels, which is a rarity and much appreciated.

Since the GPS in my car wasn't working (the rental company couldn't be bothered to show me how to use it), I had to rely on getting a Wifi connection on my Android to bring up a map. This property is in the town of Loches, not far from the chateau, and finding it should have been a slam-dunk. I got confused by the number on the property down by the street, and didn't realize that the inclined driveway I thought was their neighbor's actually led up to my hosts' property as well. I drove around and around, looking for the other side of the property (which does not face another street).

A wonderful stopover

The hosts were delightful and our room was comfortable. We were within easy reach of the town too. The breakfast was very nice too.

The shower was excellent except for the horizontal jets which immediately sprayed the floor! Perhaps some kind of warning so that the hosts don't get sodden floors. I thought of a little cartoon...

A lovely, homely place to stay.

Really friendly welcome (both from the owners and their lovely cats!), a beautiful room with good facilities and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size.

It was a lovely place to stay. If the weather is poor then the 15 min or so walk into the town centre wouldn't be great (but the weather was fine for us and the walk was no problem). The only other thing I would say is that you need to know your travelling companion well as the bathroom isn't particularly private!
