The Location, cleanliness and value were excellent..
Finding the place was extremely difficult (Unless you notice on the Booking.com website that the Restaurant on site is located 0m from the name advertised) because nowhere is the place labelled with a sign as being "Sao Jose Guesthouse" as it is named on Booking.com. Just look above at the photo, it's identified ONLY as "Bella Italia" . Even the taxi driver could not tell me where it was, nor anyone from Ponta Delgada I stopped to ask while walking around with 3 bags of luggage on my back. Please rename this with the correct name on Booking.com so no one else has to go through what I did to find it..It literally took me hours and the only good thing about it was, the weather was nice and I didn't have to search for it in a rain storm or other bad weather.

It was very close to shops, bus stations and tourist offices. The bed was comfortable. The view from the balcony was nice.
You had to play around with the shower tap to get hot water sometimes. The balcony door hinges may need checking out.
