Vila Gale is situated just outside the busy city center in Points Delgada. It is quieter and yet just a few minutes walk gets you to the main square. They have a parking area around the corner.
Luis met us when we pulled up and helped get our bags and then took my husband to the parking area. When he checked us in he gave us a tour of the layout of the public areas and then took us to our room. We had a nice larger room and it was very clean. All of the staff we encountered on our 2 night stay were very friendly and helpful.
The bar on the lobby floor level has a jazz theme and there is live music on Thursday nights.
Breakfast is more than adequate with enough choices to satisfy you.
The building has been beautifully restored and they have a very interesting gallery of many people who were significant to the development of the Azores since the 1500’s, it may be further back but I do remember the 1500’s. There are QR codes that bring up a biography of the person in English.
We like boutique style hotels and this one was a gem.

A beautifully restored building showing the history of the Azores. The rooms were clean & there are good facilities. There can be noise from the planes taking off & landing at the airport but it isn't really a problem as most people go to the Azores to explore.
