Tidy. Vanessa is nice, very accommodating. I like the fact that it’s a dog friendly place. Charlie (the dog) is also very sweet, gentle and shy.

The Vagabound Mermaid Guesthouse impresses with its central location, situated between the airport and the historic town center. There is also free parking available in the backyard of the immediate vicinity of the building. Several grocery stores and the old town, with its various shops, are within walking distance.
From the outside, the Vagabound Mermaid Guesthouse blends in inconspicuously with other houses on a simple residential street, but this changes as soon as you step through the front door into the spacious foyer and living room, where you are warmly welcomed by your host, Vanessa, and her cute dog, Charlie. After taking a moment to catch your breath, Vanessa will show you around the various rooms on the ground floor: the shared breakfast room and the kitchen. She will carefully explain the breakfast procedure and where you can find various utensils in the kitchen, as well as where you can store your own food. She will then show you to your room on one of the upper floors. The rooms are simple but immaculate and well-maintained. The same applies to the two shared bathrooms, which are perfectly adequate for a maximum of five people in the house.
Vanessa is a very friendly and helpful host. She will give you valuable tips if needed and is always easy to reach. Every day, she lovingly prepares the breakfast table for her guests. The breakfast itself is plentiful and varied.
I find Vanessa's "sharing guesthouse concept" very charming because it offers a relaxed mix of service, socializing, and individuality. I would love to come back and can highly recommend the Vagabound Mermaid Guesthouse.
For noise-sensitive guests, sound-insulating windows would, of course, be beneficial, but the takeoffs and landings (only during the day) of aircraft from the nearby airport are a truly authentic experience. Something that the host makes no secret of.

Vanessa provided many thoughtful touches in the guesthouse. She had a wide range of breakfast food options, everything was delicious, and we enjoyed chatting with other guests during breakfast.
