Everything at the cottage was perfect. It was an oasis for a weary traveller and there is nothing that Malcolm and Pip hadn't thought about for the comfort of their guests along with a welcome basket and note to the flowers on the kitchen table, and the lovely eggs, milk and bread. My goodness it really was a wonderful stay. Our only problem was we couldn't stay longer.
Absolutely nothing.

Quiet Country location, but near M6 or Hadrians Wall. Interesting walks nearby.Maps and other local info leaflets around. Good quality furnishings . Clean. Spacious shared bathroom, plus extra loo. Utility room with big freezer.Kitchen well equipped. Nice welcome pack with local produce. Warm. Electric car charger . Big TV. Easy parking. Outside patio with garden furniture
Could have done with more dinner and side plates, as there was a dishwasher. Otherwise very well equipped

Heads Nook Cottage is really a nice and comfortable place to visit the Western part of Hadrian's Wall (which we were hiking), and also at a reasonable driving distance of the Lake District, so ideally situated. It's large, very comfortable (beds are super good - we just came from another cottage that had bad beds, so this was a very nice change for us), the house is nicely decorated, the living room is just so nice to relax and enjoy some music. The kitchen is perfect, with all needed appliances. And the presence of a washing machine and a dryer is really a plus when you hike and need regular clothes changes. Last (but not least) the warm welcome by Malcolm, and the nice treats when we arrived were really appreciated. Also the very quick resolution of a boiler problem shows that the hosts are there to resolve any of our issues. That was greatly appreciated !
Really nothing to report here ! All was perfect.

Amazing property which the lovely cottage adjoins. Malcolm and Pip were very welcoming and I’m sure would have been available if we had needed them but the cottage was fantastic and we didn’t.
It was very well equipped and furnished and we needed for nothing.
The complimentary basket was amazing, from wine to biscuits.
Also Rosie our border collie enjoyed the grounds especially the grass tennis courts for exercise, although the river walk across the walk came a close second.
It’s location was ideal for exploring with the lakes, northern Pennines, hadrians wall and Dumfries & Galloway within easy reach.

The lounge was beautiful and comfortable with gas fireplace. An ideal place for a cosy evening in. Kitchen was extremely well stocked with high quality appliances and utensils. Great for cooking. Bedrooms a good size. The second toilet very handy. Ample free parking. Good second fridge and separate laundry with ample hanging and drying stands. Lovely welcome basket of local produce which spoilt us on arrival and took over a week to finish. Great hosts in Malcom and Pip. Also the cleaner had a high degree of attention to detail and very friendly and accommodating with weekly cleans during our 1 month stay.

The location was very accessible from the M6 & the A69. It was a lovely quite location with local walks, and close to Carlisle for places of interest. The owners had made us feel very welcome before we arrived with personal messages giving plenty of details to find the cottage and when we got there we were greeted with a lovely bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table, a basket containing tea, coffee, biscuits, cake, chocolates, marmalade, jam, bread. Milk and fresh orange juice in the fridge. I have stayed in a number of holiday rentals but have never experienced such a welcome basket.
Nothing. I can't think of anything that wasn't available in the kitchen or anywhere else. There was even bathrobes for us to use and toiletries.

We liked the fantastic hosts and exceptional welcome pack, the fabulous cottage is beautiful and clean, and very well equipped with lots of attention to detail. The setting is lovely, close enough to Carlisle for access to shops and restaurants, but far enough out to be able to appreciate the countryside and village life. We had a fantastic stay.
Can't fault it.

Wonderful cottage in lovely grounds. Close to local villages with good pubs/places to eat. Close to Carlisle and Bitts Park to see Tom Jones.

Being allowed to check out late by arrangement before arrival
Being told to move our cars so scaffolders could start erecting scaffold before we checked out, so it meant we had to rush out and not get the extra time we had arranged, which meant us waiting about in a garden centre before we could carry on with the days plans as we had arranged to meet other family later in the day

Lovely comfortable cottage.
No secure garden for our puppy dog, so couldn"t open doors to get air in. Lack of opening windows.

Lovely cottage in a quiet and peaceful location, with easy access to the Lake District. Well-managed and covid-safe, and well-equipped. Host is very friendly - she welcomed us on arrival and gave us a tour of the cottage. Would definitely return!
