Room wrapas basic and nice and so were bathrooms, very easy access from the airport. Instructions for the key holder were super helpful.

We were 4 and one fan wasn’t sufficient also given the weather we should have 2 also fan not powerful enough

Good location. The guest house has all that is needed for a short term stay.

The door handle in our room was broken. Seems it is time to change it for a new one. The house is located very close to the bars and restaurants, so it is a little bit loud in the evenings. But for us it was ok, because we stayed only for 1 night.

Good place to spend one night after a week in Funchal, before an early flight the next morning. I wanted something cheap and simple, so I knew what to expect. I planned to take the aeroexpress bus from Funchal to the airport, walk to Santa Cruz, and walk to the airport the next morning. This all worked out very well. It was an easy 20 minute walk along a pavement protected from the road. The owner was waiting for me when I arrived and was very welcoming, she explained that her and her husband have recently taken over running the place and are still renovating (stairs and bathrooms were freshly painted, but the kitchen & dining area was still a work in progress.) Room was large with firm comfortable mattress. I used the new saucepans to cook a simple meal on the hotplate and boil water for a drink. Location in the centre of the village was great for the saint's festival which was going on the night I was there. I used the supermarket nearby.

The photos on the website are very misleading - the place is much scruffier, but I can see that the new owners are trying and will hopefully restore the outdoor kitchen/dining area to be a nice space. The lock on the bedroom door seemed weak, but I didn't feel unsafe. The windows were single-glazed and didn't quite shut. I didn't unpack my case, so I didn't use the room amenities much. There was no hot water when I stayed, but I didn't plan to use the shower. Wifi only on the communal balcony. This place was fine for one night, but no more.
