About this apartment rental
Large apartment of 93 m2, very bright, all exterior with south orientation, high ceilings and completely renovated in 2006 and partially renovated in 2019. It is delivered impeccably and has two full bathrooms, large living room, kitchen with washing machine, dryer, refrigerator and all the necessary utensils, double room and another with 4 single beds. Located in the former Grand Hotel Eskualduna, in the center of the beach, surrounded by a large garden.
DISCOUNT is offered for stays of two or more weeks.
Enjoy its proximity to the beach in a building with two entrances, by Boulevard de la Mer 77 and Rue Mimosas 22, where you can approach your car to unload your luggage. Our apartment is number 22, on the first floor facing south.
You will not need to move much, because it is in the only place on the beach where all the services are located. Less than a hundred meters has two supermarkets Casino and Carrefour Express, two bakeries, butchers, fishmongers, pharmacy, bookstore with newspapers, surf schools with option of courses or equipment rental, numerous shops of all kinds, hairdressers and, of course , numerous offer of restaurants and bars. And if you want to relax, approach Thalassotherapy by Serge Blanco.
Enjoy walks along the beach of more than 3 km, through the bay of Txingudi, through the marina, to the border in Behovia, boat trips, either ten minutes to Fuenterrabía, or to spend a day at sea.
In addition, you can visit Saint Jean de Luz, Biarritz or inland the caves of Sare, Urdax or Zugarramurdi. You can also cross the border and enjoy shopping in Irún, the beauty of San Sebastián or a little further, from the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

The landlord speaks Spanish and probably basque, only little French and almost no English. Nevertheless, they used some translation tool and replied to emails and WhatsApps really fast and the communication worked quite well.
Due to traffic we were late for passing on the keys but they were very uncomplicated, as was the introduction to the flat.
The flat is situated between the main beach and the central streets. All surf schools and shops are close by as well as many restaurants. (When we were there, there was a basque festival. The concerts and parties are just down the street, so when hendaye celebrates, it is not exactly quite.)
The flat itself is as described, well equipped and clean. Only thing missing is something for sandy and wet shoes right at the entrance.
For everything else there is not much to say but very good.
If going in that region again, which is very nice by the way, I would definitely book it again.

We were 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) and we spent a fantastic week in early May just a few meters away from the beach. This former traditional Basque hotel has been reconverted in a condominium and the access to the beach or the town center is direct. This first floor flat is on the road side but it is very bright, spacious, clean and well furbished. Albeit a little humid and noisy (the weather was kind of rainy and the flat has single-glazed windows), there are electric radiators and most of the time the street was quiet. The owners are super nice, they speak Spanish and the lady speaks French and English. You can visit Spain (by car, train, boat) and also access the rest of Pays Basque very easily. Surf-wise, Hendaye's beach is perfect for beginners. We will come back!
