About this cottage rental
Casa da Burra is a rural house, built in basalt stone, in the 19th century, with typical architecture of the region. Recently restored, respecting the original design, maintaining some basaltic stone walls and the traditional wood oven. Attached to the house, there was a small Arribana "Casa da Burra" that served to keep animals and provide agricultural support, it is currently integrated into the house, having been transformed into a living room (hence the name of the house).
It is inserted in a small typical Azorean village, in São Pedro, Nordeste, São Miguel Açores, close to Serra da Tronqueira and Pico da vara.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, the atmosphere of peace and tranquility invites you to rest, where the relationship between the humanized landscape and nature, still presents a valuable balance. It is the perfect choice for those looking for peace and nature, all combined in one place, with stunning views over the neighboring parish of Santo António, the sea and the green of the mountains.
Enjoy a few days of rest or a comforting vacation, listening to the sounds of nature and having the pleasure of waking up to the gentle and sweet chirping of birds. You can walk the hiking trails, enjoy the viewpoints, contemplate the beauty of the sunrise, enjoy the forest parks (with their botanical richness).
You can climb Pico da Vara with its 1105 meters of altitude, being the highest point of São Miguel. Of the existing avifauna species, the Priôlo stands out, a rare bird, endemic to the Azores, in danger of extinction, whose last refuge is confined to the Laurissilva forest that exists here.
The house has 2 bedrooms with a double bed, living room, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with traditional wood oven and
an outdoor space with dining area and barbecue.

Guests have access to the entire house and outside space (yard).

Steeped in history this was a real gem. If you want authentic accommodations this is it. This is a large home decorated with antiques and full of charm. We were welcomed by our hosts and given an in-depth tour of the place. Wonderful welcome basket boasting some of the islands fares. Loved it!

It was a nice, quiet house in a quaint village. Perfect to watch the Sunset from the Garden :)
Sadly there was no hot tub like mentioned in the Description :(
The Check in was easy and combined with a Tour through the House. The Food basket Gilles with local specialities was amazing, and more than you can ask for. The house is equiped with everything you want.
