About this house rental

Woodgate Lodge is a 4 bedroomed, detached house located in the popular Purbeck village of Studland with its wonderful sandy beaches. It is an ideal base for family seaside holidays as well as walking, cycling, bird watching, riding and golf. The house is situated on National Trust land with plenty of walks and cycle tracks directly accessible from the property. It is on a quiet unmade lane with an enclosed garden laid to lawn, making it ideal for children. There are 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms , en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom, family bathroom, downstairs w/c, sitting room and dining room, with door to the terrace, leading to the kitchen and a utility room. To the side and rear are paved terraces with a BBQ and there is parking for 2 cars. The beautiful Dorset countryside is on the doorstep with its Jurassic Coastline, Historic monuments and idyllic country pubs. Water sports facilities are available on Studland and Swanage beaches. There is also a sauna available on the beach. The highly rated Pig on the Beach hotel/restaurant is in Studland, 10 minutes walk from the house and the highly rated Shell Bay restaurant at the ferry . Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant is just a ferry ride away in Sandbanks.
Short breaks are available between April 1st and 27th May and between 23rd September and 21st October and between 28th October and 16th December. Please contact owner for prices.

The house is lovely and the garden is stunning! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and found the house very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for us all - adults and children all had a great time here! Studland is a beautiful village with a gorgeous stretch of beach nearby, and easy access to plenty of fun things to do.

We stayed in this lovely Studland house over the children's half term and we all felt immediately settled in the property, which is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. It has everything one would need for a successful family holiday in a beautiful location right in the heart of the scenic National Trust managed coastline. While at the house the children played happily in the safely enclosed garden, we were delighted with the huge dining table which easily accommodated us all at family mealtimes and the large coat/boot room was put to good use with 8 of us staying. Thank you to the hosts for sharing their beautiful home, we all agreed we'd love to return, only next time we'd stay longer!

We felt very lucky to stay in this house. It was in a beautiful location with walks straight out of the door. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect for our 2 families - nice to have 2 spacious twin rooms as well as the 2 doubles. We also liked the downstairs layout with 2 large reception rooms. Lots to do in the nearby area. Would definitely stay again. Many thanks.

Hosts provided great communication and easy check-in to start our holiday. Lovely welcome gift of local biscuits. The house is beautiful, very clean with lots of home from home essentials. Waking up to the sea view and well maintained garden was a delight. Location is in easy reach of the lovely Studland beaches and local pubs. Also within easy drive of many amazing places to visit on the Jurassic coast. An amazing week enjoyed from ages 13 to 70. Highly recommended. Thank you and hope to be back in the future

We loved it here. Hosts had thought of everything and we were very comfortable. One daughter and her husband a little surprised by window open to hallway in their twin room but they improvised!! It is a very comfortable and spacious house which has everything you would need for a large family holiday. Weather was great so two patios to catch the sun was perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner outside! Thank you so much. Would highly recommend!

Woodgate Lodge is a cheerful and well-equipped house. It is beautifully decorated and a real 'home from home'. Its location is great - within walking distance of Studland beach and easy for exploring the delightful Isle of Purbeck. There are plenty of local walks for which a car is not necessary eg the walk to the Agglestone and to Old Harry Rocks. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

We stayed here with friends, for the first bank holiday in May 2018, and we were spoilt with the weather. The house was just what we needed - it had plenty of space, a lovely garden and was no distance from the beach and village - and lovely walks across the heath behind Studland (best views ever!). It had everything we needed and felt very homely. I would love to go back as this is such a lovely part of the UK. I would definitely recommend anyone thinking of staying here, to get booking!

We booked this property for my in-laws to stay in for a few days last weekend as we got married in Studland. They loved it - and were very reluctant to leave which was unfortunate as we planned to stay to complete our honeymoon! Luckily they were persuaded to go home and we spent a glorious few days walking the Heath and generally relaxing. Possible the best thing was the incredible thunder and lightening storm over Bournemouth which we witnessed from the huge picture windows. Also it was very clean, well maintained with a lovely garden and lots of personal touches. Our top recommendation is Joe's Cafe on South Beach for Paella on Fridays during July and August.

We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with friends. We loved the location for great walks from the doorstep onto the Heath and down to the beach. We enjoyed a meal at the Pig Hotel but even better was the Shell Bay overlooking the sea. The house was lovely with everything you need, and fabulous views from the bedroom and lounge. This was our second stay at Woodgate Lodge. Beautiful, tranquil setting with wonderful views to the sea, delightful garden to relax in. The house is comfortable and nicely furnished. Loads to do in the area; three different beaches to chose from within walking distance, plus countless coastal walks. Monkey World is not far, as is RSPB nature reserve at Arne, both well worth a visit. In a nutshell - Woodgate Lodge is the perfect base for a wonderful family holiday that includes the dog!

The house has everything we need to cook meals and great pubs in walking distance. Wonderful walks from the door and a warm base to return to. Very comfortable beds and gallons of hot water in a very clean bathroom. I cannot praise the attention to detail enough. ThankYou.

We are a family of 5 + dog (children: 16, 14, 11). This was our third visit to Woodgate Lodge and we can't wait to return. We still haven't discovered everything the Isle of Purbeck has to offer and this house is such a perfect base. Walks from the front door to the 4 mile beach, the golf course, Old Harry, Studland heath, the Pub, etc. The house is light, spacious, comfortable, and easy. Views from the master bedroom over fields with horses to the sea. Our favourite walks this time were circular starting from Worth Matravers and Kimmeridge--stunning coastline and beautiful countryside. We always enjoy the huge collection of family games, excellent books, music, and DVDs. It's the kind of house that just feels right the moment you walk in.
