Finca Fenix - A hidden oasis!

Amazing Finca with a lovely pool in the most incredible tropical gardens. The Finca had everything you needed and more. Mark was the best host and went above and beyond to make sure our stay exceptional.

Exceptional

We lacked nothing. Apartment was very big. We were 2 people. Marc takes your privacy into account and therefore keeps the second accomodation free, inless you are with a larger group. Thats why we had all the areas to ourselves. Roof terrace, swimmingpool and various seats. We had a warm welcome. Because our flight was delayed, we had nothing to eat and shops and restaurants were closed. Marc gave us a basket of delicious things to satisfy our hunger until the next morning. Apartment is nicely furnished, equipped with all the gadgets. All very clean, only kitchen cabinets could use some soapy water on the inside. But it is a holiday home and not a private house, so understandable and no problem for us. We enjoyed the tranquility. Alora is fun and a very good base for excursions. Marc is more than helpful. A great host, nothing is too much for him! We loved the dog, such a sweety!!!

A magical oasis

The property was extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. it is very well laid out and comfortable. The outside spaces are truly magical and is a wonderful paradise remarkably created by Mark and Kym. it is a great place to explore the area. The train to Malaga is great and we’d recommend having a hire car. there are some great restaurants around and your hosts will give you excellent tips and advice. Thank you once more Mark and Kym.

Perfect location for El Chorro!

The location was perfect for our climbing and outdoor activities. It’s close to town for supplies and plenty of spaces to chill out. Mark was attentive and quick to respond on any questions, an amazing host all around.

Could do with additional things like foil in the kitchen but we made do with what we had.

a great relaxing stay, didn’t leave the Finca for 3 days (except to buy more wine!)

An amazing Finca with stunning tropical gardens. The hosts Mark and Kym couldn’t do enough for you but we’re not intrusive at all, saw the dog more than them! also gave us lifts into town which most welcomed as it’s a steep walk in parts but not far. if you love a gym then this has one better equipped than David Lloyd’s - but couldn’t be tempted!

quite remote if you don’t have a car but this is very clear in the description, so got what we asked for. 2 of our party got badly bitten by mosquitoes so bring plenty of repellent.

This is really the best place in Alora......very nice and cosy house with all you need, lovely garden and many secret corners were you can sit and relax. Private swimmingpool as well. Nice place to visit Ronda and Malaga or walk the Caminito del Rey. Or visit National Parc El Torcal de Antequera And above all: very welcoming hosts who are communicative and helpfull with everything you like to know or need.

A fantastic place to stay

We absolutely loved staying here. The apartment has so much charm and character. The gardens are a beautiful oasis and Mark and Kim are so friendly and helpful, there is nothing not to like about Finca Fenix. The only downside is that we couldn't stay longer.

A fabulous place!

A steep hill into the town but more than made up for by the quality of the accommodation and the friendliness and attention of the hosts. Comfortable furnishings, beautiful gardens and gorgeous bedding.

A longer shower curtain in the double bedroom would have been good.

A Magical Oasis in Alora

Finca Fenix is a magical oasis & we loved it! The private accommodation is within an extremely beautiful & well renovated house. Very well equipped, with comfy beds, traditional style decor but efficient WiFi. Finca Fenix provides an authentic but luxurious taste of Andalusia. The spacious grounds are amazing! They are full of beautiful plants, trees & soothing water features, with lots of choices of seating areas. We also loved the pool, enjoying a cooling swim each day after a hot day exploring the local area. After a very friendly welcome, the host let us enjoy our stay in privacy but was always contactable if necessary. We felt very much at home!

The track down to the Finca is quite 'interesting' but directions from host were very helpful. You would definitely need a car to make the best of your stay as track very steep & unlit at night - a difficult walk to restaurants, bars & shops, even if only 1.6kms from main road.

country idyll

Mark is a fantastic host, he gave us lots of great recommendations and useful information, which we are very grateful for. The garden is like a paradise, it's landscaped in a way that it feels totally natural. Several places to relax: terrace, rooftop, poolside, fountain etc. It represented the true country idyll for me.

Beautiful finca and wonderful hospitality

We felt at home from the minute we arrived, finca Fenix has all the commodities necessary for you to relax with the family. The house is surrounded by beautiful terraced patios with its own pool and beautiful mature trees, this place is definitely paradise! the hard work and love put into Finca Fenix by Mark and Kim definitely shows .

Paradise is in Alora

The Hunde family (Nacho, Nacho, Jose, Renato and Cristian) have hallucinated at the Fenix temple. Nothing compares besides Mark a host 12 out of 10 has been amazing to us, in fact we have not left and we already want to return. We hope to return next year to continue enjoying this kingdom of freedom, this lost paradise in Alora, where you can connect with nature at very high levels. Thank you very much. See you soon.

Our hosts could not have done more for us...from picking us up at the station (we got the train from Malaga- approx 35 mins direct) and dropping us at the supermarket to buy our provisions before picking us up again and taking us to Finca Fenix where we were presented with delicious g&t’s. The villa is situated in a wonderful tropical paradise all grown by the hosts. It truly is a remarkable place. There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore, different places to sit if you want some alone, chickens to collect eggs from, goldfish and a terrapin to feed and generally just relax and let the adventure begin. The villa is situated down a track, we didn’t have a car but Mark dropped us at the top if needed. We have a relative in Álora so we knew the town and the villa was perfect to go and explore from. Álora has some fabulous restaurants to try. The hosts live on site but DO NOT let this put you off - Mark and Kim are the most loveliest caring people. You could get involved as much as you wanted and you do not need to worry about privacy as they are professional in gauging when you may need information/help etc and when you might require space. We loved the company of our hosts so enjoyed great times chatting, bat watching over drinks around the fire pit. The pool is a great asset particularly in Álora and we enjoyed cooling off under the tropical fauna. It truly is a hidden gem.

Hâvre de paix idéalement placé

C'est un endroit magnifique avec un très beau jardin, au calme, avec des hôtes disponibles si besoin. Les indications pour arriver étaient très claires et nous avons même eu droit à un panier de bienvenue ! Idéalement placé pour rayonner dans la région et faire de belles visites (voiture nécessaire). Et le coin piscine avec ses transats est très apprécié pour passer des après-midi de farniente 😊 Un grand merci pour l'accueil !

Fijn verblijf in mooi appartement met superfijne hosts en prachtige tuin!

Prachtige tuin met mooie bomen, planten en bloemen en klein maar fijn zwembad om af te koelen na wandelingen in de prachtige omgeving. Super aardige en zorgzame eigenaren. Wij zaten in het appartement met 2 kamers. Ruim, comfortabel en smaakvol ingericht en vanaf balkon met trappetje naar beneden direct bij het zwembad. Keuken met alles wat je nodig hebt. Aanrader!

Tranquilidad pero abandono de las zonas comunes

La tranquilidad del lugar y la ubicación.

La finca cuenta con mucha arboleda, como zona común, pero lamentablemente está todo muy descuidado, como si no hubiera mantenido el entorno en mucho tiempo. La barbacoa con la que cuenta la finca, que es común, son dos ladrillos como con una parrilla, nada más, todo muy sucio y dejado. De hecho, fuimos con la intención de hacer una pero terminamos pasando por la sartén la comida. Tuvimos un problema de un familiar directo hospitalizado, justo el día antes de entrar al apartamento; ya no teníamos cancelación gratuita, obviamente, pero los propietarios no nos dieron muchas alternativas para no perder el importe ya abonado. Al no devolvernos el dinero, cosa que entendimos debido a la premura de las fechas, tuvimos que organizarnos otros miembros familiares para que pudieran, al menos, disfrutar de esos días allí, ya que tampoco nos ofrecieron una alternativa de fechas ni una reducción de precio puesto que iba un adulto menos. La verdad es que nos quedamos con una sensación incómoda, mucha inflexibilidad y poca empatía.

Wat een paradijsje!

We hebben 4 dagen verbleven in deze prachtige finca en het was in één woord geweldig. De omgeving is groen, sereen en adembenemend mooi, midden in de bergen met een uitzicht waar je meteen verliefd op wordt. De finca is van alle gemakken voorzien: een heerlijk zwembad om in af te koelen, Netflix voor de relaxmomenten en een comfortabele, sfeervolle inrichting. Alles was superschoon en perfect onderhouden. Ruby en Danny waren enorm gastvrij en zorgden ervoor dat we ons direct thuis voelden. Je merkt aan alles dat ze dit met liefde en aandacht runnen. Kortom: een topverblijf gehad en 100% genoten. Wij raden deze plek iedereen aan, een dikke 10/10!
