pleasant and peaceful stay.in the countryside

We had a lovely stay. The place is very quiet, with a beautiful and lush garden that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The welcome was warm, communication was easy and efficient, and we really appreciated that dogs are accepted.

The only downside was the hot water — it was only lukewarm, and we had to wait quite a long time to get warm water both in the bathroom and in the kitchen.

Lovely tranquil spot for a night or two if visiting this area.

Loved the bohemian feel of the place. Diego is a fantastic host and could not have been more helpful. The bed and bed linen were sumptuous and we loved the cats who kept popping in to see us. Lounging around by the pool after a long journey from Tangier was bliss.

Cold showers all week.

Nice cottage with cute decorations.

We had no warm water. The shower was cold and the owner kept gaslighting us saying it was working. We did not manage to have one warm shower during our stay, even though we kept reporting the problem to the owner. And this was not in the summer period. It was fall, cold and rainy and we paid for a comfortable room with warm water. Basic expectations one would think. The room also mentions three beds, but it only has one double bed so if you want an extra bed make sure you mention it in advance. Also make sure to bring shower gel and shampoo for your cold shower. Be aware that a high-speed train passes by the b&b.

Diego made sure we had no problems finding the property, which is tucked away down a tiny lane. Lots of 10/10's to cover, but main ones are... Both guys were so welcoming. Gave us a short guide around the grounds, which are stacked full of all sorts of trees, shrubs etc. Hidden among all this is a beautiful swimming pool, with numerous sunbeds, chairs, tables. More than enough for the four rental rooms. Pool towels are provided, along with pillows! We used the BBQ which was brought round to our private patio. We could have used the fixed BBQ near the pool. Our bed was larger than normal, and the pillows were the most comfortable of all the 5 places we've stayed at during our road trip. We will DEFINITELY return, but for a longer stay. From this base you can easily drive to Ronda, Setinil, Malaga and others.

Almost nothing. A couple of plastic glasses in the room to use around the pool for safety. Maybe a small supply of beer, wine, milk that could be purchased avoiding a drive to the village. And if we were really picky, it would have been nice to be able to walk to a small bar/cafe. But, with a fridge in the room it's fine.

Good - could have been better than 'good' with very minor adjustments to the accommodation.

Quiet location and helpful staff. Useful pool as it was exceptionally hot weather (37C)

Personally, we would have preferred a conventional door between the shower/toilet room and the bedroom rather than the 'saloon' type that existed! The location is an 'oasis' in an area that was less attractive then other areas of Spain - a slightly 'industrial' feeling without any 'village' ambiance. With a little planning, there could have been some extra kitchen storage space to separate utensils from plates, cups etc.

Beautiful gardens, tranquil surroundings, very relaxing

It’s a beautiful hidden gem. We stayed here as we were walking the Caminito del Rey. The grounds are lovely, very relaxing, lovely pool area. Apartment with terrace was great, outside really spacious with table and sun loungers. The hosts are lovely, very friendly and helpful.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Maybe an honesty bar would make it even better to provide drinks, snacks etc especially when first arrived but that’s just an idea

Absolutely amazing place and host !

Diego is an amazing host, as soon as I'd booked he messaged and made before so welcome before I'd even left the country ! Beautiful gardens and friendly pets. The studio flat is perfect for a couple, I went with a friend but would be really romantic for partners too.. have everything you need to make dinner candles and cushions to eat alfresco .. just perfect! Whole place is clean with a lovely vibe and had he whole place (pool) to ourselves the next day where we were allowed to stay even though we had checked out ! Can't recommend enough !! Definitely going back !!

Pool needed cleaning .. but we cleaned it ourselves and then a gust of wind dropped lots of leaves in it again .. so I can understand how gruelling it must be !

Cosy apartment with terrace near Álora

Diego was really helpful, he gave me local advice on where to eat (Bar Marin in Álora is good for dinner) and he was always available on WhatsApp. The cats are very friendly and curious. Apartment was quiet, spacious and well-equipped. Arrival instructions clear and accurate.

A couple of minor cleanliness issues on arrival. Hot water needs to run for a while before it heats up fully.

Superb

We stayed in the upstairs apartment (number 2) with a lovely terrace. The apartment is reasonablly well equipped for self catering in a rural setting. It is about a 40 minute drive to the El Caminito del Rey northern carpark and a 10 minute drive to surprisingly interesting, Alora, with amazing views from its Arab castle. Our Irish host, Donal, was extremely friendly and helpful with lots of local tips and advice. There is a free communial laundry and extra fridge-freezer if needed. We had a wide terrace with a nice view across orchads. An on-site pool for a swim after walking the Caminito was a nice bonus.

It was nice to stay in a typical rural setting and our host is working hard to improve facilities after limited activity due to Covid-19. Unfortunately the rural view includes a large railbridge, but traffic was mostly during the day, and it did not spoil our stay.

Wonderful staff that made me feel at home in rural Andalusia

The friendliness of the staff. They welcomed me with open arms. The room feels very rural, like a cozy cave. The garden is large with a plethora of exotic plants. I did not use the pool or the gym facilities much, but they were in great condition. For the animal lover, the owner of the house took in a few stray cats and dogs that are all very friendly and loving. The dogs are rather big, but don't be scared.
