Beautiful and really well-equipped house with an incredible view

The house is really well equipped with everything you need and very clean and comfortable. The view is incredible and it's close to everything you will need to access. Really convenient if you are travelling by train.

It was a bit difficult to find as it isn't well signposted. It's up a narrow, steep path so would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues or who doesn't have the energy to walk up the hill every day. However, we did manage to find it without getting totally lost and we had the host's phone number in case of problems. The steep path was fine for us - the reward is the view at the end.

Great views in a reasonably OK apartment.

The view, especially from the balcony is great. The terrace is great too, but only has half view as the roof of the house below is partly blocking it. Walking back from Caminito del Rey and hiking starts right at the apartment.

Mold in the bathroom and partially also in a bedroom. That didn’t feel very clean. The shower (pipes, tab, rain shower) need to be replaced, very old and dirty (but more than enough hot water, which was good). The owner uses El Nido as a name for his apartment. This name is copied (stolen?) from a very well rated hotel that is close. Kind of pathetic. Be aware, this apartment has nothing to do with the El Nido hotel/restaurant and it’s good reviews.

A little gem of a place.

This was in a great location with lovely views. Ideally placed for climbing and nearby walks. Only a few minutes walk from the train station, bus stops and local hotel.

There was nothing we didn't like about our stay here.

Fab stay

Fabulous accommodation! Well equipped kitchen and comfortable/spacious living area (loved the log burner) and same with the bedrooms. Perfect location for hiking

Looking at the mountain and stars from the bedroom window. The orange blossom in the courtyard Espresso machine. The bathroom pipework made us giggle!

Damp. Safety issues - the flue from the pellet fire, the electric shocks from the patio table. Unable to get in, or shut/lock the door, as door was swollen following wet weather.

Great value for money in a beautiful place

El Chorro was more beautiful than expected and I was delighted that the house was so close the village and had such beautiful views. The house itself was better than the photographs. It was spacious, had a modern kitchen and bathroom, two good sized bedrooms, a lovely terrace and a balcony off the bedrooms. When I finished the Caminito del Rey it was great that the house was so close to the end of the trail. I hiked two other wonderful trails that were nearby. I did not have a car and that was not a problem. The owner was responsive and helpful. Overall, I thought the house and its location was exceptional value for money.

House was a little difficult to find - or maybe I should have read the directions more carefully. The pellet stove is great but it doesn't produce a lot of heat. Of course, I only ran it for an hour or two a day but I think the space under the front door and the lack of insulation would make it difficult to heat this house. That said I loved sitting next to it and it did warm me up. I felt badly dumping the water from the humidifier into the sink when there appears to be a drought. Also, did not like just have one bin for waste and recyclables.

Beautiful view, clean and cosy apartment. Sitting on the terrace on a rest day, enjoying coffee and the sun was fantastic. Large kitchen for cooking and an amazing location for climbing and hiking.

A great place to interact with nature.

For the first time in Spain, the owner of the apartment speaks good English. The room has everything you need to stay. Nearby forest and mountains. Fresh air. Nearby is a mountain for climbers and hikers. If you have a car, then nearby you can visit Malaga, Ronda, Antequera, caves. There are many animals around. We met a fox, a group of wild boars ran near the door of the apartment. We and our dogs was happy !

Only one thing, very very weak internet, less than 150kbps and does not catch on the second floor. It is impossible to work via the Wi-Fi. Also almost does not catch 4G, there was only HSDPA from my phone.

I have stayed before - this time we had to cancel due to sudden lock down in Spain. The owners have been helpful and have kindly refunded our payment. We have rated the property highly based on other recent reviews but mainly for such good customer service.
