Everything! Host was attentive on arrival and friendly when we passed him at his nearby home, but otherwise didn't intrude. Beds were very comfortable with LOADS of pillows. Spotlessly clean throughout. Board games for kids were a bonus. 4 lovely horses in next field. Great laundry room in adjacent outdoor building with storage for our bikes. Tasteful decor with an understated owl theme. Everything we needed in the kitchen - important in a pandemic - we were blessed with good weather and could eat outdoors at restaurants, but if it had rained we would have needed to do more cooking. Basics were there on arrival - tea, coffee, sugar, seasoning, a few dishwasher tablets etc. We loved the stove as we don't have a fire at home - it was set for us to light that first night. The outdoor surroundings were very picturesque, we enjoyed using the garden furniture. The area is also wonderful - a fantastic dolmen up the road, the lovely twin villages of Narin and Portnoo within walking distance, walking out to the pilgrimage island of Inishkeel at low tide was also fun. And then, it is also a great base for touring all of west Donegal.
We enjoyed staying in a cottage- so different to our modern home. It took a while to get used to the dim light in the living room, especially at the dining room table, but really, it's all part of the charm. Similar situation with the low ceiling at the bottom of the stairs.
