Took the day trip bus to Mt St Michel after exploring the fascinating history of Granville.

Fantastic location inside the ramparts close to everything. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts (continental style) meeting and conversing with Eric and the other guests. A quaint restored 300 years old townhouse.

No washer but laundry nearby.

Wandering down memory lane

Le Logis de Roc is in the perfect location, as the name implies high up on the rock itself and within the city walls, the Granville's lighthouse's flashing light reflected on the buildings you can see from your bedroomwindow . It a very characteristic building where each room has the name of a flower and has been decorated individually in a pretty, cosy and quaint style. Eric, known - with good reason, so please be sure to ask him about it - to his friends as "Le Capitaine" hosts a veritable captain's table at breakfast-time, where he facilitates and contributes to a wonderous variety of personal and striking converstations amongst his guests. My French is unfortunately very limited, but he kept checking-in with me, to make sure I could follow the jist of it all. For me this was the return to Granville that I promised myself approximately 30 years ago when I first visited this unique town with my daugther's father; hence the title :)

Excellent séjour !

Eric nous a formidablement bien accueilli. Animé par le contact avec les gens, il nous a proposé un très bon petit dej, pendant lequel nous avons passé un très bon moment à discuter. Il est également très gentil et arrangeant, en acceptant notamment de garder nos sacs sur le reste de la journée de départ. Il est aussi de très bon conseils en terme de restaurants (nous avons vraiment très très bien mangé) La déco de la chambre, typique française d’époque, permet de se plonger dans l’ambiance du quartier du Roc de Granville. Rapport qualité prix excellent. Vivement recommandé de séjourner ici si vous venez visiter Granville !

Superbe ! Je suis restée plus longtemps que prévu, et j'espère y revenir !

Le charme du bâtiment, l'accueil d'Éric, la situation géographique, au cœur de la haute-ville, à proximité du sentier côtier et d'une jolie place pavée, où l'on trouve un bar super sympa, un très beau et très bon restaurant (je n'ai pas mangé ailleurs de tout mon séjour), un tabac et des chouettes boutiques.

Le seul petit bémol (et l'hôte n'y est pour rien, c'est un bâtiment classé donc rien à faire) : l'isolation phonique d'époque. Personnellement, cela ne m'a pas dérangé du tout, mais je précise qu'on entend plutôt bien les voisins et les bruits de la rue.

Le logis est à la proue d'une petite place animée mais pas trop. La chambre est plutôt grande et confortable. Le capitaine vous accueille au mieux, autour d'une table de petit déjeuner conviviale.

Wunderbare Lage in der Altstadt auf dem Granitfelsen

Bedingt durch die Historie des Hauses und meiner späten Buchung hatte ich ein (schönes) Zimmer, nur leider in der 3. Etage…das war für meine kaputten Knie schon eine Herausforderung. Aber dafür kann der Betreiber ja nichts…war halt nur unglücklich - wer schlecht zu Fuß ist sollte darauf achten. Einen Lift gibt es natürlich nicht (altes historisches Gebäude).
