Perfect, relaxing holiday

Our family of 8 people ranging between the ages of 9 and 76 stayed at Groot Constantia Villa for 2 weeks in December 2016. On our arrival, we were greeted by Dennis who gave us a tour of the house and provided us with all the information we needed to ensure we had a safe and comfortable stay. The house itself is amazing, and we didn’t want for anything. We spent most of our time at the house around the pool and in the entertainment area. The kitchen is very well equipped, although most of our cooking was done outside in the braai area. The beds are all very comfortable and the bed linen was changed regularly by the hardworking and attentive staff. We visited the Groot Constantia Vineyard several times and also enjoyed taking walks to the bars and restaurants a short walk away. The Constantia Village is nearby with a Woolworths Food, Pick n Pay, Clicks, etc. Constantia itself is very central and within easy access to the amazing attractions Cape Town has to offer. I would like to give a special mention to Magdalena, our lovely housekeeper. She worked very hard making sure the house was kept clean, bed linen changed and she always had a smile on her face. She is so warm and friendly and I really enjoyed our chats in the kitchen. She always made me laugh and I grew very fond of her. It was very hard to leave the beautiful villa on our return to the UK and I miss Cape Town terribly. We are already planning our next trip and will certainly try to stay at the Groot Constantia Villa again in the future.

What an amazing place!

What an amazing place!

I'd been corresponding with Dennis, the owner of the property, for about 9 months and found him extremely helpful and quick with his replies. That's always a great start. When we arrived we were all bowled over by the attention to detail of Dennis and his wonderful staff who run the house. They couldn't do enough to help us with anything we needed but also leaving us to enjoy the house in peace. What can I say about the house ... it's stunning and is, in my opinion, in the best location possible. Where else are you given a key to let yourself into the vineyards of the oldest wine estate in the country? Here you can walk through the vines for wine tasting and wonderful restaurants. The pool, the garden, the braai area where all fantastic and the interior of the house was very spacious, light and bright. The security was first class and we all felt completely safe and secure there. Dennis and Elizabeth, thanks you so much for making such a wonderful base for us while on our Cape Town adventure! If you can book this house, don't hesitate. We will be back :-) Dave, Frances, Tracey, Dean and Claudette

Das Ferienhaus ist genauso gut, wenn nicht noch besser, als es beschrieben ist. Wir hatten mit 10 Personen einen traumhaften Urlaub in diesem Ferienobjekt. Constantia war für uns der schönste Stadtteil von Kapstadt and alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sowie Kapstadt selbst sind von dort aus schnell mit dem Auto erreichbar. Die Vermieter sind jederzeit zur Stelle, wenn Fragen sind oder Hilfe benötigt wird. Die Angestellten von Dennis verwöhnen einen wo sie nur können und sind alle reizend. Es gab einfach nichts, was wir in diesem "Ferienpalast" bemängeln konnten. Das Haus ist sehr weitläufig und auch mit 10 Erwachsenen ist für alle genug Platz. Der Außenbereich ist wunderschön, sehr gepflegt und groß. Die Terrasse mit Grill und Pizzaofen ist genial. Wir haben den Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen und werden bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort gewesen sein.

We stayed in the Groot Constantia Villa for a week with 8 adults and one toddler. The villa was perfect for us: it had everything we could wish with excellent facilities (including a private pool, sunbeds, bbq, wifi) and is situated in a beautiful area right next to the Great Constantia wineries. The house is very large and luxurious (easily sleeps 10 adults), and cleaned daily by the friendly staff. Dennis (the owner) gave us a lot of tips and was very helpful. When we said we were bringing a 1 year old he bought a cot and toddler dining chair. We highly recommend this villa!

Excellent and really comfortable Villa

We stayed here for seven nights. We were warmly welcomed by Dennis and introduced to Magdalena and the other staff, were shown round and given useful local information. The famous lemon drizzle cake awaited us and was delicious. The house is beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Certainly some of the furnishings and fittings are twenty years old, but everything worked and all were excellent quality and tasteful. The kitchen had every device you could wish for, and the master bedroom and bathroom were fabulous. The villa is in a beautiful and safe location, with very private garden and pool, and lovely views from all the balconies.. The staff were friendly and efficient. There are so many good restaurants nearby, particularly at some of the vineyards and excellent shops at Constantia Village. We couldn't have asked for more.

we had a fantastic time! the location is very convenient for Constantia Village, and right next to Groot Constantia - a nice walk to the wine tasting! Dennis and Elizabeth couldn't have been nicer and made us feel very welcome. The house is very secure even staying by myself with the kids after my husband went home. The housekeepers were very pleasant and everything was spotless. We definitely want to visit again and can thoroughly recommend this accommodation!

Constantia is a leafy suburb in Cape Town. Nova Constantia is the upmarket area full of the most beautiful large houses of which Groot Constantia Villa is one. The house is large, luxurious, very well equipped and immaculately clean. It is on the edge of Groot Constantia vineyard which you can freely access and the area is quite and peaceful. Dennis (the owner) and his wife Liz, who live next door are really helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We thourghly recocomend this villa. Terry and Rose

Location, Location, Location.

Location, Location, Location.

Our family of eight, covering three generations with the youngest grandchild being 18 years old stayed at Groot Constantia Villa for two weeks from the 27th July to the 10th August 2014. The superb location of the villa on the edge of the Groot Constantia Wine Estate made it an ideal location with shopping, restaurants and Peddlars on the Bend within a short drive. It is also very easy to get to the seaside at Hout Bay and Camps Bay with Cape Town just around the corner. A walk through the vineyards to visit the Groot Constantia Wine Estate for the wine tasting followed by a meal sat outside the Jonkershuis Restaurant in the sunshine is a must. Facilities in this magnificent villa are second to non with everything you might need to make your holiday one to remember with the outside eating area around the braai and the pizza oven being especially enjoyable. The pool table was a great hit with our two grandsons and we must congratulate Dennis and Liz on the quality of the welcome pack which includes Liz’s famous lemon drizzle cake.

From the moment of stepping into this well kept, clean and tidy and well decorated mansion (calling it a villa by European standards is laughable - Its MASSIVE) , we needed for nothing. Dennis greeted us with a cake his wife had baked, and handed over his contact details if we needed anything. Suffice to say he had thought of absolutely everything, and we never needed to call him, although he made sure to check in with us at various points. Tons of bedding, towels, and ALL the bits you expect from cutlery to pizza oven spades. The villa was serviced daily by two employees! He lives right next door (in the next house) and actively manages the property. The house was defnitely a home away from home, and we enjoyed using the pool, pizza oven and BBQ area. Not to mention the late night pool table sessions! We would happily go back (in a heartbeat) and recommend to anyone! Dennis also had arranged wine tours for the wine estate next door - a very nice touch!

Great location - very comfortable

Great location - very comfortable

We have rented this house for 4 years and love it. It is a little different, but is spacious and comfortable, if a little old fashioned, and is perfect for guests. It has spectacular views, but is very close to Constantia Village - an excellent shopping mall. It is not in a secure compound, but we have never had a moments anxiety about security. Dennis and Liz the owners are the landlords from heaven and are always on hand to fix any problem. We would thoroughly recommend it.

Superbly located for walks through the vineyards to friendly local restaurants.Dennis and Liz were very kind and gracious hosts, we were touched by their thoughtfulness ,Liz baking us an irresistible lemon cake and Dennis promising a printer in the study and a television in the sitting room by our next visit. Yes, we immediately rebooked for next year. Our only disappointment with the property was the pool, which was not really designed for swimming, just for hanging out. No rental property will ever be perfect, this one came close.

Already the reception by the owners was perfect. The house is in immaculate condition and nothing is missing. It begins with a top-equipped kitchen, goes beyond the common room with pool table. The outdoor area with beautiful garden, pool and barbecue area perfect for scenic evenings with friends and family. The stunning location on the edge of the vineyards and the central location to shopping and leisure facilities will make your stay an unforgettable experience. When I am in South Africa, there is just one place I like to stay - Groot Constantia Villa
