About this house rental
Casa Ghiandaia is a bungalow located within five minutes walk of the bay of Cotoncello, a delightful cove overlooking the bay of Sant'Andrea, and twelve minutes walk from the sandy beach of Sant'Andrea. It is in an elevated position, enjoying quiet, privacy and 360 degree views of both mountains and sea. The nearby village of Sant'Andrea offers shops, cafes, restaurants, outboard motor dinghy rental, and doctor's surgery. There are numerous hotels with good restaurants within easy walk. Zanca, five minutes drive away, which has a well-stocked mini-market, is served by the public bus which runs along the coast to Portoferraio and to Marina di Campo. Marciana Marina with comprehensive facilities including two supermarkets and medical centre is twenty minutes drive away.
The bungalow comprises: large living room with tv, dvd and satellite connection and adjoining large kitchen, both giving onto extensive terraces; 2 double bedrooms, 1 with large double bed with double doors to a terrace, the other with single beds; modern eat-in fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom with large shower. In all, the inside area is approximately 65 sq m. All rooms are luxuriously furnished, with heating/air conditioning. A washing machine is located on the lower terrace, together with a washing line. There are several beautiful extensive terraces, two porticoed at the bungalow, one with lawn adjoining the bungalow overlooking the bay of Sant'Andrea , the other, accessed across a snake-path, directly overlooking the sea, the Italian coastline and the island of Capraia (children must NOT be left unsupervised on this terrace). The terraces are variously equipped with tables, chairs, modular outdoor furniture, sun-beds and barbecues. There are two outdoor showers, one overlooking the mountain, the other on the terrace directly overlooking the sea. There is also a ping pong table with bats and balls. There is parking on the premises. Bed linen and towels are provided.

We spent 10 wonderful days in Elba, relaxing in this incredible house with its beautiful tranquil gardens, watching the lizards scampering and listening to the birds singing. The completely private terrace with panoramic sea views was simply breathtaking... We enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear sea, exploring and meeting the wonderful local people. I came to Elba as a child with my family and had longed to return one day. It was just as wonderful as I remember it... It was a dream to stay here and was hard to leave. Thank you Deborah and Robert for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Our ten-day stay in the house was a wonderful experience. The house and the garden / terraces around it are exactly as described and Wilmo a great help. A marvellous place to relax and to watch spectacular sunsets.

Though already after season we had a great week in the house near the beautiful Cotoncello beach. We also enjoyed playing ping-pong and relaxing in the garden or the patio. We would really like to return sometime in future.

Sehr schöne Lage abseits vom grösseren Tourismusrummel. Wir waren Anfangs Mai in Sant’Andrea und empfanden den Ort und das Gebäude als sehr gute Ausgangslage für Wanderungen im Westen Elbas.
