beautiful seventeenth chartreuse, all comfort, fenced pool, near Bergerac

Planning in the garden, swimming, privacy for everyone. It wa an amazing place and we loved staying here

Super stay in a wonderful country manor, with superb gardens and a gorgeous swimming pool area. We (a mix of adults, teens and small children) very much appreciated the terrace pergola for dining, the planting and the garden play area, herbs and fruit. The interiors are historic and elegant, filled with family heirlooms, antiques and memorabilia. Upstairs, the beds were comfortable and there were lots of ensuite bathrooms (and one separate loo on both floors). The location is high up so when it was hot in the Dordogne valley, it was comfortable (cool, even) overnight in the bedrooms - which was welcome. The kitchen was a little tired but there was plenty of space to prepare food. An additional fridge for water and wine would have been welcome but these are small issues. We loved exploring the local area, the market in Perigueux, kayaking on the river, visiting historic sites and 'geo-cacheing' in particular. The owners were delightful and most helpful. We were thrilled with our stay in such a memorable property and would come again. Thank you so much from all of us.
