Apartment located in a quiet location, just 15 min drive to Calheta beach and shops, 30 minutes from Funchal and 40 minutes from the airport.
It is ideally located for exploring the island, with easy access to the north and its fabulous landscapes across the Ribeira Brava. Porto Moniz and its natural pools are just 35 minutes away. Sport fishing and dolphin and whales at Marina da Calheta.
The patio of the house offers a fabulous panoramic and unobstructed view of the ocean. A real paradise where you have a view of the sea and the mountains.
There are 2 (Madalena do Mar and Achada) of the more than 200 trails crossing masses of basalt rock on the island, taking hikers into a rare natural world. Throughout these irrigation channels you will come across species of fauna and flora you will find hardly anywhere else in the world, in the traditional Laurissilva forest of Madeira, which has been declared a World Natural Heritage Site.
Nearby you can find small markets, restaurants and bars where you can taste the famous Poncha da Madeira.
Depending on the time you visit us, you can help for religious celebrations or for various events on the island, such as Christmas, New Year, Carnival, Flower Festival ...

I had a great work/vacation time in casa da tenda. 4 weeks away from the German cold really enhanced my well-being. The hosts Fatima and Joao are kind and patient with non-Portuguese speakers. Garry was really helpful as English contact and helped whenever I had a question (e.g. COVID test center locations). The free bananas, eggs and fresh vegetables are a nice bonus.
Thank you Fatima, Joao and Garry for my vacation experience. I’m currently learning Portuguese to enhance my next experience on Madeira.

Die Wohnung bietet einen wirklich tollen Ausblick auf den Talkessel und das Meer. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und vollständig. Es gibt liebevolle Annehmlichkeiten wie Früchte und Kekse zur Übergabe. Die Nachbarin brachte sogar frische Eier von den Nachbarhühnern. Das war wirklich total nett. Der Vermieter Garry ist absolut hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Insgesamt können wir die Wohnung absolut empfehlen.
