Casa Mariana

Casa Mariana is owned by the sweetest Costa Rican family—a husband, wife, daughter, and their three adorable, friendly dogs. They all live on-site and make you feel completely at home from the moment you arrive, welcoming you like family. Everything you could need is just a few minutes' walk away. The area felt very safe, and the room was spacious, spotless, and had such a lovely, peaceful energy. I work online, and the internet was fast and reliable throughout my entire stay. I was also pleasantly surprised that the two fans kept the room perfectly cool day and night, even during my stay in June. I really enjoyed staying in this area because it gave me the chance to experience the real Costa Rican lifestyle. I had such a wonderful stay that I extended my booking several times. I would definitely come back and highly recommend Casa Mariana to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and authentic place to stay.

Everything was perfect.

The hostess is very charming and gave us a tour of her garden. The accommodation is modest but very clean with all the cups/plates/silverware you need if you want to eat at home. The hostess organized a taxi for 4am for us. We stayed 2 nights to recover a bit before flying and it was very pleasant.

A place to hang up clothes would be an improvement. The walk into town wouldn't be suitable for a woman alone.

Busy street with no nearby places to walk to or dine. Nice back yard for sitting though.
