Fantastic family stay — unforgettable Lapland experience

We stayed as a family (2 adults and our 9-year-old) and had a truly wonderful stay at Korvala Cabins. The on-site amenities included in the price were fantastic — ice skating, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing and sledding meant there was always something fun to do without needing to travel elsewhere. We also loved the private hire sauna experience which was such a special and relaxing highlight of the trip. We took part in some of the additional paid activities and really enjoyed them. The husky kennel tour was fascinating, and my husband did the husky sledding which he absolutely loved — such a memorable experience. The location was easy to access using public transport and Uber, which made getting around really straightforward. The restaurant food was good, and we would highly recommend the cinnamon rolls in the café — they were amazing! We were incredibly lucky to see an amazing Northern Lights display on our first night. The dark skies made for perfect viewing right in front of the cabins, which felt really magical. We hope to come back next year and would definitely recommend staying here for a magical lapland experience.

It’s so peaceful and absolutely beautiful during winter. Everything you need is right there - huskies, saunas, free use of ice skates, snow shoes, cross country skis. And the restaurant is top notch.

Cosy Magical Stay

We had a great 2 night stay in Korvala Log Cabin. Although tight for space it was perfect for 2 nights and we could park right next to the cabin. The cabin was lovely and cosy and had facilities for cooking if needed. We ate in the restaurant one of the nights and it was very tasty. It would have been nice for the restaurant to be open also on the Sunday however, we also understand that staff need a day off too. It is about a 45 min drive to Rovaniemi. There is a lovely walk around the lake which throughly enjoyed. The cabin is picturesque and surrounded by lovely forest. I had reached out in advance regarding the possibility of booking the sauna / plunge pool and was told that this can sorted on arrival as they hold spots for guests however, these spots were not available when we did enquire on arrival which was disappointing so my advice would be to ensure you book in advance even if advised that you don’t have to.

Amazing!

Its location outside of Rovaniemi in beautiful winter wonderland. Much preferred this as the town was much more built up than expected. Not far from Santa’s Village but need to have a car. The cabins are so cute, like Santa Cabins! Very small & basic inside. Bunk beds for all 4 of us! But what we traded for that was lots of activities are included which can be very costly otherwise when adding up for a family. Ice skating, fishing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing. Although lake wasn’t quite frozen enough yet for fishing in December 2025. They also offer husky rides for a fee. Restaurant/cafe run by Chef Susanna was excellent. We had a wonderful traditional Xmas lunch & picnic basket. We loved the fire hut, used it multiple times. Can go for walks from there too. To top it off we saw incredible Aurora right from right outside the cabin.

We would have loved to do the Sauna experience but it was too expensive for a family. Perhaps 1 visit could be included for staying guests as other properties usually include a sauna in Finland.

We went on one, and it was unforgettable and incredibly exciting! Many sports are available, including snowshoeing, fishing, cross-country skiing, and two saunas, one of which is on the frozen lake. Amazing postcard perfect place

Stunning location, staff were fantastic, food was tasty and clearly home made with love. Cannot fault anything. It was unfortunately -40 so husky ride was cancelled but we did a fabulous kennel tour. Great spot for cross country skiing, exploring and enjoying the snow. Highly recommend.

Only downside is the distance away from a shop but if you bring your car just bring snacks and food that you need. Some snacks available. It's honestly so beautiful.

Excellent stay

It was perfect place to experience the snow near Rovaniemi. We didnt have a car so we used the local taxi so around €175 for 5 adults with luggages from Rov center then we used the bus going back to Rov around €70 for 5. We were at the big cabin. Bunk beds comfy, a double bed also comfy. Kitchen ok- we bought groceries before we came- no grocery store in Korvala so make sure u bring groceries. Overall adequate. Cabin feels. But aside from the payment for accommodation, you pay for towels/ linens which was add on from your accommodation pay. You will pay when you arrive. Facilities: sauna which u can book and pay Sledding stuff etc are free They have a trail u can walk around Huskies well cared for, great husky experience Komea restaurant good we had dinner once- one meal around €30 so x 5 is a bit pricey but good food Jaana very nice lady. Great responses even way before our trip. She is very nice. Huskie people are very nice too- they love what they do, they love the huskies and you can feel that love they have for the animals We didnt see the northern lights when we stayed Dec 26-30,2025 bec of the clouds. We also did a reindeer farm tour via Unique Reindeer Farm which you will see at Korvala cabin’s site too- it was a great experience so try them too. No reindeer ride but reindeers in their natural state. Pekka is awesome! Overall, I recommend this place

best location to expirience the finish way of live

It was perfect. We came a little bit earlier but Jaana made us warm welcome and gave us all necessary information for our staying in log cabin. We booked breakfast - delicious and vintage. Also floating sauna is awesome. And if you want to taste delicious finish food take a dinner in main house.

EXCEPTIONAL in every way.

Korvalla Husky Farm is truly one of the most exceptional places we have ever stayed—and that’s saying a lot. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed, and over the three nights we spent there, the entire experience exceeded every expectation. The cabins are warm, cosy and beautifully rustic, instantly grounding you in the feeling that you are really in Finland. Stepping outside to find the lake frozen solid right at our doorstep felt almost surreal. The restaurant and café were equally inviting, more like a comfortable lounge than a dining space, perfect for relaxing, and a big bonus for our 17-year-old, who happily settled in there with the Wi-Fi when needed. We loved the thoughtful extras, especially the complimentary sports room with cross-country skis, ice skates and sleds, which made it easy to embrace the winter landscape at our own pace. And then there was the highlight: the dog sled ride. It was authentic, beautifully run, and far exceeded anything we had imagined—an unforgettable experience we will talk about for years to come. If you are considering staying in Rovaniemi or any of the more commercial options, do yourself a favour and don’t. Korvalla Husky Farm offers something truly special, authentic and heartfelt. It is, without question, one of the most incredible places we have ever experienced.

Everything was perfect. Even the fact that it is 60km out of Roviniemi, was a blessing as you had time to enjoy the landscape and see Reindeer along the side of the road was a bonus.

Magical place for winter wonderland!

The location is ideal for husky ride and catching the aurora borealis. It is about 30mins from Rovaniemi. There's a bus stop along the road which is convenient. No other restaurants or supermarkets around. So plan carefully if you are staying longer. We stayed for 3 nights in the cabin and we were able to catch the aurora borealis for 2 nights. It is indeed a magical winter wonderland. There is a smoke sauna, shed for campfire, a small skating rink and play equipment for children. There are plastic sleighs to slide down the hill and we used it to slide our luggage to and from the road. The husky ride staff were friendly and professional. The dogs were super friendly and very excited for the run. There was a kennel tour after the ride too. We cooked our meals in the small well equipped kitchen. The toilet floor is heated which is a plus. A big shout out to Jaana and her lady chef for an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality. Blessed Christmas!

The size of the cabins and the bunkbeds are too small. The kitchen utensils were all from IKEA and the knife was not sharp. These bunkbed cabins are more suitable for families with young children. It was just my husband and I staying in this cabin, so it was just fine for us. My other 2 friends who stayed in the double bed cabin, were squeezy for them. Not much moving space around the cabin.

Beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful setting with well-maintained grounds, and lots of attention to detail. I loved hearing the howling huskies late at night. We stayed in a red cabin, and found the alcove bunk beds very comfortable. There was plenty of snow at the time we visited, and we used the sledges, skis, snowshoes, and snowboard. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed both meals. The breakfast box is also worth ordering. Korvala’s huskies are well-cared for and the 2km husky tour is a good experience. Overall, we found Finland / Lapland to be very expensive in all respects, however I think it’s comparable value for money in Korvala.

Only issue is that you need to hire a car to get there as the local buses are scarce.

Magical!

The Korvala cabins are very comfortable and warm, with lovely design. The Family running the place offers also husky tours, sauna and very kind attention to what we needed. We loved souna and lake bath experience. There is an exellent traditional restaurant there too, magical place. The forest is accesible, with clear trails, although it is good to have gps with you. We used the skating equipment, included in the cabin price. I think they also turnedon the Northen Lights fior us the other night ;)

Maybe a sand clock inside souna (which was amazing anyway) would be helpful.

Incredible

A family of four we are just home from a 3 night stay at Korvala (should have stayed for longer). The most amazing experience from start to finish. Jaana & Seppo (owners) so helpful and accommodating. The log cabins are clean and comfortable. The setting is picture postcard perfect. Photos will not do it justice. The husky ride is incredible and the dogs are all loved and cared for so well. The sledging and super fast slide in the snow was a favourite for my kids (5&7). The sauna and dip in the ice cold water is a great experience you can enjoy here also. 45 min drive from Rovaniemi airport, if you are looking for an authentic experience away from the commercial side of Lapland this is your place. We were also lucky to see the Northern lights on our final night in Korvala. I am already planning a return trip for 2025!

everything was alright, really hot inside, good radiators, fresh drinking water, location was amazing, we saw a true spectacle of the auroras, the cabin was incredible small and it was for 4, we were 2 but we found it very small and inconvenient as we were a couple but the beds were bunk beds, it doesn’t necessarily say this when you book so be careful.

Lovely place to stay and explore

We visited for the long Easter weekend with our parents, a teenager, and two young children (under 4). All of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very friendly and the surroundings were beautiful. Even though our travel schedule unfortunately didn't allow us to book a husky sledding tour, we were still able to explore and enjoy the expansive grounds with material that was provided free of charge: skis (also for young children), sleds (including a sled specifically for a very young child with a strap to hold them in place), a map with several trails for skiing and hiking... There were also ice skates, snow shoes, a covered grilling place next to the lake, and for a normal charge there is a sauna with a swimming hole. There is a sledding hill and a playground (which was still completely covered in snow and ice but this didn't stop the children from exploring). It's not close to shops or any other business/activity to visit, but that's the trade-off you make for being closer to nature and away from the city. We saw an (arctic?) hare and squirrels from the cabin, some reindeer in the forest, lots of different animal tracks, and of course we had a look at the huskies in the kennel. If you have a car, there are other excursions/shops within doable driving distance. We did not but easily reached Korvala by public transport (bus stop right in front of the property) with the kind owners even being able to accommodate an arrival slightly earlier than check-in time. We did not have a lot of noise from the road but this might have been thanks to the snow banks. Contact with the owners before, during and after our stay was easy and fast. Information was proactively provided. We had forgotten to bring one or two items and the owner quickly and kindly helped us out. We had the large cabin. Some of the beds were in the living area, one bedroom was separate.

For some reason the cons appear to posted first. If this is the case, please read the pros because we recommend Korvala! The cooking plates were a bit inconveniently placed combined with the cooker hood which made the back plate harder to check on and reach. (The kitchen as a whole was advertised as being relatively basic so this was not a surprise. We brought our own potato knives and were glad to have done so. There were a bigger knife and peeler provided, you could get by.) Disclaimer: we found the following issue to be minor and did not report it to or discuss it with the owner. The fireplace was impressive but some of the stones it was made of were loose (not dangerous for an adult but could be a hazard for small children). However, I seem to remember reading somewhere that there will be renovations very soon so this issue might be resolved soon.

Beautiful location with plenty to do

Amazing location with cottages near the shore of the lake. Surrounded by loads of different forest walkways that are even navigable in the snow. Dozens of beautiful huskies in the training school. Loads of free wood if you want to light your own fire in your cabin. Skis, snow shoes, sleds, etc. free to use. Also, for the English speakers, you'll find English language channels on the tv. All in all, very satisfactory. Note, while the nearest supermarkets are about 50km away, if you run out of beer, and have a car, and are sober, you can get beer in the Chinese restaurant and (limited) shop 10 km up north.

Could do with an oven and a toaster. Two seater couch not very comfortable and only two seater so if you have more than two in the cabin, some people will have to sit on kitchen chairs.

Exceptional

I had the pleasure of staying at Koravala Log Cabins and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The surroundings were simply breathtaking, with stunning views of the mountains and forests that made me feel completely at one with nature. The log cabin itself was cozy and comfortable, with all the amenities needed to make my stay enjoyable. The cabin was well-maintained, clean and tidy, and the wood-burning stove provided a warm and inviting atmosphere on colder evenings. One of the highlights of my stay was the opportunity to explore the local area. The hiking trails around the cabin provided a great opportunity to get some exercise and soak up the beautiful scenery, and the nearby lake was perfect for cross-country skiing , snow shoeing and very nice place for ice bath! Overall, I would highly recommend Koravala Log Cabins to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat in the heart of nature. The beautiful surroundings and cozy cabin made for an unforgettable stay that I hope to repeat in the future.

Lockers on cabin sometimes doesn't work properly, but I believe administrators already solve this :)

It is a bit of a journey from Rovaniemi if travelling in and out for activities (45 mins drive) but worth it for the beautiful, peaceful location.

The scenery is fantastic, the people that work there are amazing, they treat you with care and you can see they love their job, especially the huskies.

There weren't a lot of buses when I went, so I had to organize the trips. There aren't any supermarkets that you can reach by walking, maybe they could sell basic stuff for the guests. I feel that if you have a car, it will improve the experience a lot.
