About this house rental
This lovely house in the Charente Maritime department of Western France is perfect for those 'get away from it all' holidays whilst still convenient for shopping, restaurants, beaches, museums and historical sites as well a real flavour of french rural life. The views over the surrounding countryside and the Gironde estuary are stunning.
Comfortably sleeping 6 in three bedrooms with two bathrooms and a separate toilet, there is a spacious living room with dining area, a kitchen and a separate laundry room. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and ensuite bathroom (basin, bath and WC) Bedroom 2 has twin beds. Bedroom 3 has 2 2'6" single beds. There is a separate shower room with washbasin and also a separate WC. The living room and dining room area has a comfortable sofa and armchairs, dining table and chairs and a wood burner. There is wifi, a satellite TV, DVD player, a stereo CD player, a docking station for an Iphone 5, and books and games. The kitchen has all necessary cooking utensils, and there is a microwave, induction hob, electric oven and dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the laundry room. The house has just had air conditioning installed. The grounds are approx 1/4 acre and are completely fenced as is the swimming pool
The house is close to the beautiful Gironde estuary, and has stunning views over the vineyards and the estuary itself. It's ideal for couples and families (with kids)
The property is situated in a small hamlet with shops in nearby villages 3 kms away. Bordeaux is 100 km. La Rochelle approx 80 km. Own transport is necessary.
Please note that the swimming pool is open from June until the end of September.

A wonderful house in a lovely and peaceful area with a great view over th Gironde. The pool is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well equiped. Check in and comminication with Jo was extraordinary with lots of tips an explanations. We will come back!

Set among vinyards and sunflowers with a view of the Gironde this propery is indeed set in a piece of French tranquility.
Jo was very welcoming and helpful on our arrival especially as our flight was delayed. The house had everything we needed including a fantastic pool. There was plenty to see and do in the region including a lot of nice villages including harbours, beeches, kayaking, sight seeing.
My teenage sons who thought it was going to be too remote enjoyed the local way of life and did not want to leave at the end of our stay!
