This is a lovely well equiped property situated in a quiet area close enough to local shops to walk (through the beautiful vin yards) and beaches only a relatively short drive through lovely scenery. We had a wonderful time and would recommend to anyone. The host was very approachable and easily contactable

It was exactly in the right area that we knew. The property had everything that a family could need, including useful information for the area. We hopefully will return and of course, recommend it to our friends.

The gite has everything you need for your stay. The hamlet is in a lovely quiet location in a beautiful area. Great countryside for cycling - the bikes are all in a great condition (a bonus when compared with other places we've stayed!!) Maggie was most helpful prior to our stay - many thanks. While there are mosquitoes (referred to by others, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered mentioning them!) as it's relatively close to the estuary, they're easily manageable and certainly didnt cause us a problem (they usually love me!) Overall, a great place to stay! Thanks, Maggie

Despite the inclement February weather we spent a lovely two weeks exploring fabulous locations along the Gironde estuary. La Maison Fleury is spacious, clean cottage with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. It is tucked away in a quiet peaceful hamlet typical of the area, surrounded by fields and views of the Gironde estuary. We purchased some delicious local wine from the vineyard next door and visited the lovely Chateau Beaulon a few minutes drive away where you can book a wine tasting tour of the vineyard. The local village is 15 minute walk from the cottage, with it's friendly bar and shops. You do need a car but are within easy access of the beaches of Meschers, St George de Didonne and the larger resort of Royan. We enjoyed excellent food at many of the port side cafes in Meschers and Mortagne, visited the restaurant Chez Gigi a couple of times, a 10 minute drive away in the lovely old port town of Mortagne sur Gironde. Spent a day exploring the sites and shops in Bordeaux and another in Blaye with it's medieval Citadel, both easy to get to and about an hour's drive away. It's perfect for those who like to experience the hustle and bustle of a resort or busy town during the day, or cycle around the quiet country lanes exploring the many typically French villages in the area but then escape to the peaceful hamlet to sip wine in the garden as the sun is setting.
