A nice stay in a historical mansion in Loire

A very nice stay in a historical family mansion in the midst of Loire, decorated with beautiful antiques and carries on its spirit from at least a hundred years ago. You wake up to the sound of birds singing, to a very beautiful landscape and garden, and a nice french breakfast. The room was very clean, and the housekeeper is a very attentive and nice lady.

A beautiful setting, lovely pool and 7 hectares of private grounds on the banks of the Cher river, the hosts were welcoming and the incredibly elegant breakfast was excellent. The Manoir is a lovely house and grounds. The room was good, lots of sockets so easy to plug in laptops and phone chargers as well as our cold box.

Our room faced the main gates and got a lot of noise from the road, it would have been nice to have easier access to a kettle and tea and coffee in the room.

Lovely old house with antiques and a pool for summer.

lovely property! beautiful gardens to have a leisurely stroll along with a swimming pool. Our room was the family suite with one large confortable bed and two smallish sofa beds in the sitting room. Lovely furnishings and good wifi most of the time. Useful small fridge downstairs, but nothing in the room. No TV but not a problem for us.

missing a closet to hang clothes, but the housekeeper told me they are working on it. Also a wierd old fashioned bath tub with no plug and a shower handle that let water go all over the bathroom floor if you are not careful. If you have mobility problems...you might have a hard time getting out of the tub.

Romantic Stay

It's a wonderfull property, hidden from the road with a huge park. Swimming pool was very nice. Was very hot and we had a fan provided in the room as ours did not have air-con As a good will gesture due to covid-19 restriction, we even got a bottle of sparkling wine.

Could use a bit more "extra" to offer to the guest, like afternoon tea this place could have a lot to offer if taken the opportunities and time to do it

A really beautiful place, but too many restrictions tend to diminish the enjoyment of the place.

The park around the manoir is absolutely beautiful and we can walk on the grass, have picnic and play games. The staff is well organised, accommodating (if warmed of lateness etc ..), and the breakfast is very good.

The access to the pool was limited to 1 hour a day, only in the afternoon and slots had to be booked, which meant that we have been able to enjoy the pool only once despite staying for 2 nights. I wish we were able to visit the inside of the manoir (the guests' rooms are at the back of the property in a different building) but as the owner currently lives there the house was not accessible. I would have liked a hairdryer in the room without having to ask.

Lovely property, room and setting run by helpful, caring and welcoming owners/hosts.

The location and property was fantastic, the family room a good size for 2 adults and 2 children (sofa bed), our daughters are 11 and 13. It's a lovely manor house style, the room was clean and tidy. The pool area very pretty, slots of 1 hour need to be booked due to the Covid regulations currently so think ahead. The owner Linjia was just fantastic and our eldest daughter feel ill during the evening and we had to seek emergency medical help, Linjia helped arrange a doctors appointment close to midnight and even offered to help translate should it be needed. She was very understanding and we felt very well looked after at a worrying time. We were due to stay 2 nights but had to leave sadly after 1 to return to the UK as my daughter remained unwell - wish we could have stayed longer. Linjia even offered to refund the pre paid unused night which was not expected but greatly appreciated. The area is lovely, close to Tours and the both the Loire and Cher rivers - where you can book canoe and boat trips (book early/in advance), there are nice restaurants a short drive away which Linjia advised us on. Breakfast was nice and taken on the terrace a tray of continental. We just wanted to say thank you for looking after us at a worrying time.

All good. The rooms were hot but France is experiencing a significant heatwave and whilst there is not Air conditioning in the room, there are large electric fans provided and the windows create a good through flow of air.

The location for us as an overnight stop near the autoroute was perfect. Lovely pool, pretty grounds, comfortable room and good breakfast.

Only hand held shower attachment from bath taps. I would expect at least a higher placed shower attachment, as we don't do baths in hot weather. Also very disappointed as it described 2 restaurants within close walking distance. I even messaged the chambre d'hôte to check this as after a long drive our absolute requirement re where we stay is that we want to be able to walk to restaurant. Both were shut. We had to make do with some left over fruit from our journey!

La struttura di per sè è molto bella, è un maniero immerso nel verde, con una bella piscina, in una posizione comoda per visitare la Valle della Loira Tutta la gestione è affidata ad una governante molto gentile e disponibile (a noi ha anche preparato la colazione in anticipo il giorno che siamo andati via perché dovevamo partire presto)

Il maniero è bello, ma necessiterebbe di molta manutenzione. Sicuramente non mi aspettavo un relais di charme, visto anche quanto abbiamo pagato, ma qui si ha l’impressione che sia tutto decadente e manca ovunque cura ed attenzione (qualche esempio: ci sono state fornite asciugamani spaiate e piccole, in camera alcuni luci era fulminate e alcune prese non funzionanti..) Altro esempio è la colazione: viene servita in una sala da pranzo davvero molto bella ed elegante, ma poi è tutto approssimativo.. la macchina del caffè, il microonde etc sono poggiati su un mobile a caso e disordinato. In generale manca la cura e l’attenzione per il cliente che invece ho trovato in tutti le altre strutture in cui ho soggiornato durante il mio viaggio in Francia

Très beau cadre, chambre spacieuse, salle à manger luxueuse pour un petit déjeuner très copieux et délicieux. Grande piscine dans un superbe parc. Très bon accueil de Solila qui est aux petits soins pour ses hôtes.

La voiture est nécessaire. Mais les premiers restaurants sont à moins de 10 mn en voiture et Tours centre à 20mn.

Chambre cosy située dans un manoir bien tenu, joli jardin à l'anglaise doté d'une piscine non chauffée.

N'avons séjourné que deux nuits au manoir mais il semble que le petit-déjeuner ne varie pas beaucoup. Quelques fruits seraient bienvenus.

Der schöne Park wird leider vernachlässigt, (defekte Sitzgelegenheiten, ungepflegte Brücken, stehendes Wasser etc.) Hier fehlt ein Handwerker! Das Bett ist zu klein auch für normal gewachsene Personen. Dusche nur von Hand. Eingang durch das Esszimmer. Dient als Frühstücksraum mit entsprechenden Kücheneinrichtungen. Nicht einladend. Die Mitarbeiterin (Empfang, Bedienung) aus Albanien.

La gardienne ne parle pas très bien le français et les propriétaires sont inexistants C’est une maison d’hôtes sans hôte L’écrin est magnifique, mais l’accueil n’est pas du même niveau . Ne vous attendez pas à des propriétaires, prévenant, des confitures Maison, un petit déjeuner sympathique. Vous allez être déçu. Le petit déjeuner est bas de gamme C’est la gardienne qui cumule de multiples tâches et elle se démène pour faire le maximum La prestation globale s’en ressent et n’est pas au niveau du prix

Grote teleurstelling met non-communicatie van de uitbaters.

Geen internet in de kamer en in het gebouw Ontvagst door de meid die onvoldoende Frans of Engels spreekt. We kozen deze accomodaties om advies te krijgen van de locale uitbaters, maar hier verliep het totaal niet naar wens. Geen communicatie met de gouvernante. Ontbijt; zeer primair en elke dag minder en minder keuze. De toegangspoort is gevaarlijk en veel te smal. Onze kamer noemde deluxe kamer maar was eerder een zolderkamer.

Lieu mérite le changement du propriétaire

Nous avons été déçus par notre séjour, alors que le lieu possède un énorme potentiel. À notre arrivée, seule la gouvernante était présente pour nous accueillir. Aucune vérification de notre réservation, ni même de notre identité n’a été réalisé à notre arrivée. La gouvernante ne parle pas bien français et ne le comprend pas très bien non plus, ce qui rendait la discussion compliquée. Après d’être installé à notre chambre, nous avons vérifié sur notre application Booking et nous nous sommes aperçus qu’il ne s’agissait pas de la chambre que nous avions réservée : c’était une chambre de standing inférieur. Ne voulant pas nous embêter à essayer de régler le problème avec la gouvernante, vu la barrière de la langue, nous avons préféré contacter directement l’hôtel via la messagerie Booking. Le lendemain matin, une gestionnaire est venue nous expliquer qu’il y avait eu une confusion entre deux réservations (les seules deux réservations dans tout le manoir) et que notre chambre avait été attribuée à un autre couple (qui était d’ailleurs assis juste en face de nous pendant le petit-déjeuner). Nous avons trouvé dommage que la gestionnaire a préféré de rejeter la faute sur la gouvernante, qui fait très bien son travail de ménage mais n’est clairement pas formé pour gérer l’accueil des clients ou gestion des réservations. Pour la deuxième nuit, nous avons été relogés, mais la nouvelle chambre avait un pommeau de douche défaillant. En plus, il n’y avait pas de connexion 4G sur place et la Wi-Fi mise à disposition était indétectable. Aucun geste commercial n’a été proposé par l’hôtel pour compenser le fait que, la première nuit, nous n’avons pas été logés dans la chambre que nous avions réservée. Enfin, l’entretien général laisse à désirer (terrain peu soigné, absence de site internet, pas de référencement Google, etc.). C’est vraiment dommage que la gestion ne soit pas à la hauteur du potentiel du lieu.

Bon séjour dans un établissement proche des châteaux.

La souplesse de la gardienne (nous avons eu un contretemps pour l'heure d'arrivée). La beauté du manoir et le cadre du parc.

La communication avec la gardienne (qui est adorable) n'est pas aisée du fait de son français (elle est encore en apprentissage). Nous n'avons eu aucun contact avec les propriétaires, alors qu'il me semblait que c'était le principe du réseau "Bienvenue au château". La propriété, le parc, les abords ne nous ont pas été présentés. Les viennoiseries du petit-déjeuner n'étaient pas très fraîches. Nous nous attendions à un petit-déjeuner plus varié étant donné les commentaires élogieux (pas de fruits par exemple, une seule confiture Bonne-Maman de qualité standard). Nous avons été légèrement déçus par les prestations (une seule serviette de bain par personne, le wifi ne fonctionnait pas, pas de serviettes mais du sopalin pour le petit-déjeuner, l'eau de la baignoire s'écoulait doucement malgré le bouchon, etc.). Notre chambre était dans les communs (comme une ou deux autres chambres) et non dans le manoir.
