Felt like we were back in time. La Lanterne is a special place in the heart of historic Sarlat. Gary was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. Three nights wasn’t enough. We can’t wait to go back!

It's very quirky and handy for the town of Sarlat.
There was a festival in Sarlat the weekend we stayed. That meant all the roads were closed and parking was an absolute nightmare. The lady running the hotel was aware of it but didn't trouble to forewarn us.
Also, the bedroom was up a very tight spiral staircase. There was a thick rope (bannister) but it had come loose and couldn't be used. The property would be entirely unsuitable to anyone with mobility issues.
There is a restaurant of the same name further down the hill and they didn't provide directions to the hotel, perhaps La Lanterne should make themselves better known.
