Villa pinelopi

Stunning view and great location for the beach and local tavernas. The place was well cleaned before arrival. The facilities include a dishwasher and washing machine, espresso machine and coffee/ milk frother, a panini toaster. The air-con units are really good. The owners were accommodating with our late check-in time as our flight was due to arrive late in the evening and tried their best to rearrange the cleaning crew to come after our check out time - unfortunately unsuccessfully, as we were pestered by the poor cleaner who clearly had not been told and arrived two hours earlier than agreed. The owners were quick to rectify the broken bathroom floor tiles which would have been dangerous to bare children’s feet. They were great at bringing a couple of kitchen towels as there were none and a chopping board.

The bathroom is in desperate need of repairs. Though we expected to have to purchase some supplies, it would have been appropriate to have some dishwasher tablets and bin bags, as it’s not exactly an item one can buy a small supply of and travel on holiday with. Thankfully there was dishwasher liquid for hand washing. Finally, although our booking confirmation states no further payment will be required as we paid the full amount upon booking, we were asked to pay an extra fee for environmental tax.

Es hat uns super gefallen, es war alles da was gebraucht wurde im Appartement, auch die Küche ist voll ausgestattet. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist traumhaft in den Sonnenuntergang. Wir möchten uns bei Pinelopi bedanken für die nette Gastfreundschaft. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The apartment is spacious and comfortable, with superb views from the terrace. There are 3 or 4 good restaurants within a ten-minute walk. We were able to park right outside the house in this quiet location.

The bathroom is in need of updating and the kitchen equipment is minimal. We had to ask for creaking door hinges to be oiled - which was done after a week. We asked for clean bed linen and towels after one week but were told that they are not normally provided. After we expressed surprise, they were supplied. Communication with the hosts was problematic. We contacted them by SMS, email and telephone one week before our arrival to request information on key collection but received no reply. After two days we sought help from booking.com and then received an answer, though it lacked precision. We met Pinelopi herself only once and did not find her very helpful. She sent her mother to give us the key and show us the apartment, and her husband dealt with the doors issue. The usual warm Greek hospitality was not in evidence. The beaches within walking distance are very stony. Three large rubbish bins 50 yards away were emptied only once in the two weeks we were there, with the result that there was rubbish strewn on the road.

L’appartamento è comodissimo, ampio salone con divano e grande televisore, cucina attrezzatissima, vista fantastica, barbecue e area esterna per la prima colazione. Per andare al mare si devono fare 200 mt ma niente di pesante. Appena si scende ci sono tutti i lidi attrezzati che concedono gratis lettini e ombrelloni pagando solo la consumazione. Trovarlo non è stato difficile perché il proprietario è venuto a prenderci fuori la strada.

Nulla. Forse l’unico consiglio è curare un po’ di più l’esterno magari ci sarebbero meno formiche in casa
