Very nice location with a stunning view and great rooftop

While we enjoyed our stay overall, there are a few points that could be improved. The main issue was that, upon arrival, there was no electricity. As a result, the air conditioning wasn't working, which made the upstairs bedroom almost unbearable in the 40°C heat. We had to call the host, but unfortunately there was a language barrier as they didn't speak English. Thankfully, they called us back and arranged for a young English-speaking person to guide us through rebooting the entire electrical system over the phone. Once it was reset, everything worked fine, but it gave the impression that this might be a recurring issue. The bathroom also needs attention. There is a large hole in the shower drain that has simply been covered with a plastic shower mat. It didn't feel very hygienic and seemed to be there to prevent insects from coming up the drain. A proper repair would make a big difference. Another small disappointment was the kitchen. In Italy, we were surprised that there wasn't even a single coffee capsule or tea bag provided. It's a small gesture that makes guests feel welcome, especially after a long journey. Finally, while the main bedroom is beautiful with its charming vaulted ceiling, the mattress is very uncomfortable, particularly on one side, and could really benefit from being replaced. Fortunately, these are all relatively minor issues that could be fixed quite easily. With a few improvements, this property could easily deserve an even higher rating because it has a lot of charm and potential.

The location is amazing! The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and an amazing roof deck. There's even a little kitchen if you need it.

I had to message the host when I arrived because I never received the welcome email explaining how to get into the house. The second bed didn't have sheets, so I messaged the host to send some. The bathroom has a little bit of mold and the towels were tissue paper, but otherwise, everything was great.

Wow!!! this property has the most unbelievable views!!! It has a delightful roof top terrace to sit and enjot the sweeping views across Matera. It was easy to find and the location central in the old town made exploring easy and enjoyable. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our short one night stay, we wish it ws two :)

The location was top notch - in the maze of the narrow streets stood a small, cute house with 360-degree views of all Matera could offer! The roof terrace offered a large parasole as well and the first-floor bedroom's balcony doors opened to a magnificent view. Also, there was an espresso machine and pods / free water included, and bathroom was well equipped with all necessary toiletries and nice set of towels. The lady who welcomed us was very accommodating and friendly.

The property seemed a little run-down - chairs on the terrace were all broken (not to the point of unusable, but just one step removed) and the curtains in the bathroom fell down upon a touch... The AC was located above the second-floor bedroom and cooled only that. First-floor bedroom had to make do with a fan. And then there are Very Narrow stairs that are very difficult to navigate. Especially in the dark. I had to use the bathroom at night, slipped and broke my toe. So, we will not return.
