About this house rental

A spacious 5 bedroom family house (sleeps 10) located between the small Breton fishing port of Dahouet and the adjacent huge sandy bay of Pleneuf Val Andre. The beach of Val Andre is 450 yards from the front door with its unspoiled promenade and panoramic views of the bay of St Brieuc. All water sport activities are catered for by the local centre, and if you prefer to stay on dry land there are miles and miles of rugged coastline to explore on the well maintained and indicated footpaths. Val Andre has a good variety of shops, restaurants and boutiques, as well as its renowned golf course and casino. In the other direction at the same distance is the fishing port of Dahouet with its small marina and local fishing fleet. There are cafes and restaurants to discover but not so many as to be overwhelming, the welcome is typically Breton and we are sure you will appreciate the local seafood dishes. The house offers a private south facing timber terraced courtyard.

Golf: The closest golf course to the house is Pléneuf Val André only a mile away. Val André:
One of the top links courses in France, the views over the coast and cliffs are stunning and the backdrop of rolling green countryside is spectacular - 18 holes, par 72, 5836 metres.

Sable D'Or Les Pins: Lying close to the Cap Fréhel headland and the superb beaches of Vieux-Bourg and Les Sables d’Or - 18 Holes, Par: 70, Length: 5510 Yards.

Other golf courses in St Malo, Dinard, St Cast, Les Ormes.

Water sports and beaches: The Breton sailing centres offer a wide range of water activities for all ages. It is worth checking their range of boats as well as their courses which they run for kids and adults.

The closest sailing centre is on Val André beach. You can rent a variety of sailing boats, windsurfers, sea kayaks, canoes. The centre also organises excellent sailing courses for children and adults as well as sand yachting courses.

Just at the end of the road!

Markets: This is very much part of French life and a delight to view and choose from vegetables, delicatessen as well as seafood stalls. Not to mention the last gadget for which a vendor will invariably find 1000 uses. Most markets will end late morning.

Our family of 8 adults, and 2 babies had a wonderful holiday, staying in this well-appointed, practical and beautiful house. We loved the outdoor area, the covered outside dining room, and the spacious kitchen and living room. It was so good to have 3 showers and 5 loos too, with such a number of us in the house.

Clean and well presented this house is an excellent place for a large group or family to spend time together. It is within walking distance of beaches and the town, so near to restaurants and shops, with the Boulangerie being a pleasant five minutes walk away. The outdoor space is very well designed with a large covered table, lovely for eating, but of a limited size for sitting together outside just for a drink. We would certainly return if we were thinking of coming to Brittany again in a group of friends.

House was very comfortable and was a great home base for exploring the area. Close to beautiful harbor, beach, and walking trails and a short drive to other sites of interest. We especially loved the harbor and boulangerie a short walk away. Isabelle and David were perfect hosts!

The town has lots to offer for people of different ages and interests. We all enjoyed the huge beach and swimming in the sea, but also the walking paths and promenade. We made use of the local markets, which provided some great quality food, and had some good meals in the local restaurants. The town is a great combination of the harbour in Dahouet and the holiday resort in Pleneuf. This meant there was always something to do or look at. The tiny kids really enjoyed the"mini-port" and the bakery. We were lucky enough to have good weather and all agreed we'd love to return.

I have recently returned from staying in this property over the New Year period. We chose it because of its flexible accommodation: we were two families, one with two teenagers and the other with two grown up children. The bedroom arrangements worked well for us as did the bathrooms all of which are beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped which was good as we ate in a couple of times and the large table seated 8 of us so no problems there. The living area was cosy and although it wasn't the right time of year to be outside, the patio/bbq area looked like it would be perfect for summer evenings. The house is conveniently located a short walk from Dahouet Port/Pleneuf val Andre with its shops and restaurants. This was important to us as we didn't want to have to drive all the time. We did have a slight issue with the heating early in our stay but Dave the owner, was very quick to resolve this for us and offered to return if there were any other issues, which there weren't. I would recommend this property to families/groups looking for a larger property in this location. Dave and Isobelle looked after us well and we would happily return. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and all the best for 2017.

We loved the house. It was near enough to the beach for the family to walk there comfortably;restaurants also easily strollable. Boulangerie was brilliant and handy, as was the harbour. We enjoyed the barbecue area too. A book outlining local villages and places to visit would have been appreciated. Also we only found the games on the second last day! Dave and Isabelle were very helpful as regards the booking arrangements. We would hope to come back. Thank you.

We had a wonderful week in Pleneuf - if only it could have been longer. The lovely house is perfect for a large group with lots of space including a neat outside area for barbecues etc and a real suntrap. It was spotless when we arrived and appears very fresh and well cared for inside and out. The amazing sandy beach (perfect for children of all ages) is a 5-7 minute walk with the town alongside. We were very fortunate to have hot sunny weather so we didn't venture outside the area but just enjoyed walking, running, swimming in the sea. We took our own bicycles which were useful to get the morning croissants - you can hire from nearby. There is a good choice of restaurants in the town for all budgets - we liked Le Plein des Sens - but we mainly ate at home. We stocked up in the main supermarket a short drive away but otherwise picked up food daily at the local supermarket. Our older children had a fun night out at Space nightclub which is within walking distance. We stayed during the Olympics so were able to enjoy all the highlights on the English TV channel. We would very much recommend this house and this seaside town to others - and plan to go back in the future.

We stayed here in August 2016. The house is very comfortable with great facilities. The outside dining area and grill were particularly useful. There is an excellent beach just a 10 minute walk away with the marina at Dahouet just a short walk in the other direction. There are also plenty of other activities all within short driving distances. Would definitely recommend as an excellent holiday location.

We had a lovely week in this attractively furnished and comfortable house. We were 7 adults and 2 children and the bedrooms worked well for us. The beds are so comfortable and we really enjoyed eating outside on an evening. The children enjoyed the tv and well stocked video selection and we all found the number of bathrooms perfect for our needs with plenty of hot water for showers and baths. The property was certainly well-maintained and clean and the owners were very helpful whenever we needed. We enjoyed so much walking the back route to the sea and swimming followed by a coffee in town. We ate in most nights but liked having 'moules frites' down by the harbour and pizzas in the pizzeria in town on one of the nights. Theres a large E.Leclerc supermarket one can drive to which is about 5 mins away but we preferred walking to the smaller 8 À Huit supermarket in town (although they don't stock anything gluten-free there). Theres a coffee machine in the kitchen but a cafetiere would have been appreciated too. Thanks so much for being so accommodating and for letting us stay in your lovely house. We had such an enjoyable and sunny week - perfect if you don't want to drive much as everything is within walking distance from the house.

Our party of eleven (8 adults, 2 children and one infant) stayed at the house at the end of July 2016. The house is spacious, especially the bedrooms and tastefully decorated. We found it really useful having so many bathrooms with so many people. The covered outside eating area was also a great feature that everyone loved, plus the decked area outside is a real sun-trap! There were plenty of large pots and bowls in the kitchen which is essential for a large group and not something I've always found in other holiday homes. The town and area itself was also good for the children - we went to the boat pond at Dahouet which they enjoyed and the huge beach is about 10 mins walk at a slow (kids) pace. We went to the market (Tues mornings) which we definitely recommend. Also good was Fort La Latte - a fantastic castle on the coast about 30 mins away. We mainly ate at the house but can recommend La Voile in Dahouet - lovely position by the harbour and good cocktails. And we had takeaway pizza from La Villa which was very tasty. Overall a very pleasant holiday!

We very much enjoyed our holiday in Isabelle and Dave's house and they couldn't have been more welcoming. The house was very comfortable (especially comfy beds!) and is spacious enough for two families. Located on a road (albeit quite busy) leading directly (about 5-10 min walk) to the the seafront at Val Andre, it is handy for walking to the beach and to restaurants (La Villa (italian/pizza) was perfect with great food and well set up for young children). At the back, the house is accessed from a quiet lane leading to the Port and the local bakery (excellent!). We had a couple of days of sunshine and besides visiting the beaches within walking distance from the house, we had fun outings to Sable D'Or (and fun riding around on the Rosalie bikes) and Erquy. On the wet days, the children loved our visits to the aquarium in St Malo (predictably busy but very good), a fantastic 'Asian zoo' (ZooParc de Tregomeur) , and the Terrarium de Kerdanet in Plouagat (all within an hour's drive from the house). I would recommend the house for families with (if you put stair gates up where appropriate) or without young children.

The perfect holiday home for a large family - spacious, well-appointed rooms and plenty of bath/shower facilities. Most importantly, it is conveniently located for the beach at le Val André, the harbour at Dahouët and all other amenities. The space at the back of the house is secure and safe for children; and family barbecues are not to be missed!! We will definitely be staying here again.

What a lovely house this is. We, two families, stayed for a week in the house which is beautifully decorated and very well maintained. The beds were really comfy and the house was equipped with everything 4 adults and 6 children needed. We would personally like to thank Isabelle and Dave who were great to deal with in all stages of the booking and holiday. We would highly recommend this house and hope to pay a return visit in the future. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

We stayed at Pleneuf-Val-Andre for two weeks during the summer with our family and grandchild. Lovely big, comfortable house, close to the road which leads to the beautiful beach. There are lots of activities such as rock pooling and sailing (the beach front promenade is great for a relaxing stroll). The town is super with excellent restaurants, ice cream parlour, shops and bakery! We really loved Pleneuf-Val-Andre and hope to visit again. Many thanks to Isabelle and Dave for their wonderful home.

A family of four of us, with children aged 5 and 7 stayed in the house for a wonderful holiday during Easter 2014. We have rented a lot of houses in many countries over the years and we have to say that this house is superbly appointed, with plenty of space for up to 10 people, as advertised. All of the bedrooms (only 3 of the 5 used!) are very comfortable, there are 3 bathrooms including the wet room in the utility room, with good, strong showers (nothing worse than a weak shower!). The utility room, with built-in wet room, is a great idea to rinse or shower off sand from the beach which means nobody traipses sand into the house and there is also lots of space to hang up any laundry both inside and out. The kitchen is very well kitted out with large fridge/freezer and large range cooker with granite worktops and there is a good Wi-Fi signal throughout the house with a decent connection speed. The garden is a real sun trap and the perfect place to unwind with a glass of something cold after a long day on the beach. The kids, and grown-ups, fell in love with the beautiful, sandy beach at Val-André, exploring the rock pools, fishing off the rocks, and even swimming in the sea in April! We ate several times at "Le Val Joli" restaurant in town which did great moules-frites and generous portions of salads, burgers, steaks, etc., and also had good takeaway pizzas from “La Villa” pizzeria opposite. We also had a lovely lunch at "Quai Ouest" by the harbour in Erquy. We would thoroughly recommend staying at this house to any larger family or two families and we will return with another family of four as soon as we can. Thank you to Dave and Isabelle for providing such a wonderful property.

We have stayed in this house three years running which is a recommendation in itself. It is lavishly equipped particularly with bathrooms/WC s which are more than adequate to meet the demands of ten people and there is the space and equuipment to wash and dry things quickly, very useful when the weather is wet as it sometimes is in Brittany. The house has always been in immaculate condition when handed over to us. It is well maintained, accurately described in the listing description,the owners provided good cistomer service and we would certainly recommend the property to friends and relatives. The main attraction for us is the excellent beaches and swimming available in this area.

Fantastic property has everything a large family (or two) could ask for! Very high class finish to all the rooms with great facilities. We love the brilliant covered outside eating area which we used every night (regardless of the Brittany weather) and the separate utility room with wet room is fantastic for getting clean when coming in straight off the beach. Location is brilliant - a very short walk to the centre of town and the beach. Dave and Isabelle, the owners couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Stayed there twice and will be back for more!
