LEO YU Capsule Hotel Nishifunabashi

The location to Disney is great. It’s also a super quick walk from the station when you’re tired after a long day at the park or hustling to the morning train. Lawsons like a block over, very convenient. Staff was great, attentive and patient.

I stayed at another Leo Yu, and this one seemed slightly more run down, more tape covering things in the bathroom, more mildew growth on ceilings and walls, my capsule was full of all kinds of body hair and dirt where the thin mattress didn’t quite reach the door curtain. The smell in the sleeping room was also the worst of any shared sleeping room I’ve stayed in in Japan, like mildew and wet gym socks. It was quite stuffy and hard to sleep the first night, better the second two nights (and this was at the end of September, I’m sure peak summer gets pretty rough). The bathrooms were dirty, but that also depends on who is staying at the same time you’re there and how much they respect shared spaces. I saw a lot of hair and piles of trash left behind in shower spaces. Made me feel kind of grossed out.

All ok.

Its not as convenient as their other capsule hotel near Keisei Funabashi Station. This one requires a transfer, and there is relatively far fewer restaurants in the local area.

It was pretty clean and the facilities were relatively modern so it would be OK for one night

Being forced to check out in the morning and then check back in the afternoon which I found bizarre. If I knew that then I would never have booked the place for multiple nights. They do let you stay between 11am-4pm if you pay extra which smacks of greed. Also, if you have oversized luggage then lockers are too small and you are forced to squeeze it in your capsule which restricts the space you can sleep in. None of this was made clear before booking which really annoyed me as this was supposed to be my last few days in Japan!
