Château Canet

We had a fabulous stay at Château Canet as a family of four. The setting among the vineyards is beautiful and wonderfully peaceful, yet it is still very convenient for Carcassonne and exploring the Minervois. Our accommodation was spacious, comfortable and full of character, and the pool was especially welcome during the very hot August weather. The whole estate has a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere and never felt crowded or overly commercial. The hospitality was warm and genuine, and staying on a working wine estate made the experience feel particularly special. Naturally, we also really enjoyed the Château Canet wines. A memorable and very relaxing stay in a beautiful part of southern France. We would happily return and would highly recommend it.

Very little to dislike

Tout est parfait : le lieu, le calme, les paysages, la propriétaire très accueillante et bienveillante, le charme de la décoration, le petit dej livré le matin, les équipements (piscine, tennis,…). Nous avons même eu droit à un accueil une visite de la propriété avec l’hôte, tout était parfait.

The house was really nice and the location perfect. It was well equipped. The attention from the owner was always fast and they are a kind family.

The house could have been cleaner, we could see that there were things that hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We expected to have regular cleaning for the six days that we spent (at least twice, as they do in other accommodations) but it wasn’t like this. In the kitchen, specially the pans were very old and there was no microwave. At the end we found the price too high for the accommodation.

What a beautiful place, something for everyone (wine lovers, families with kids, couples etc), in a wonderful setting tucked away in the Carcassonne country side. A working vineyard, run by a lovely international family and wine connoisseurs - and all their wines are a marvel, we particularly loved the white Minervois as well as the Chardonnay. We had the most relaxing time and our small daughter was charmed by the swimming pool,playroom and tennis court. A real hidden gem, we will most definitely be back!
