Los Helechos

All good

This place is old-school in all the best ways. It's the kind of small, comfortable, local hotel you could imagine living in. The location couldn't be more central. The building is charming, historic, and thoughtfully decorated. The rooms are lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a nice little cafe where you can get breakfast, or a coffee or glass of wine to take up to the terrace. It's an absolute bargain for the price. Recommend.

The location in Sanlucar is good and the secure car park was a bonus. The inner courtyard yard is very attractive.

When I telephoned to make a reservation to park the car, I ask the female receptionist if she spoke English - she said no and put the phone down on me. I tried again and eventually she understood what was required. When we arrived she certainly wasn’t welcoming and put us in a small and dreary room where the heating wasn’t working. Thankfully a very helpful man had taken over and he kindly moved us to a much better room where the heater worked. Because of this woman we will never stay in Los Helechos again nor would I recommend it to anyone.
