The room and building were decent. Stylish, hip room. Clean. The stairs up the 3rd floor were a little exercise. But the bed! Absolutely terrible. My neck/shoulder is still destroyed from it. Like sleeping on a metal cage with a t-shirt over it. With a new soft mattress or a thick mattress topper, the room could be decent. But I can barely turn my head from neck spasm/pain. Had to endure 3 nights of this. Also while the communication was good and the staff were nice, I paid in cash and was never given my change back (albeit small so I didn't care, but it's a matter of principal).

This building has a lot of character, and like most in Hanoi, seems to have undergone several renovations over the years.
My unit was located on the third floor and included a wonderful balcony with a view right across the street of neighborhood houses, representative of how everyday people live and work - which is what I want from an authentic Hanoio vacation!
The sweet little restaurant downstairs and its friendly staff made the experience feel warmer than it otherwise would have. onsite laundry was a handy bonus. :)
Aside from a lumpy mattress, $15 CDN/night is great value for this unit's location and ambiance!
