La Ferreterie - family home - 18th century farmhouse 2 to 12 people

Located less than 5 km from wild or guarded beaches, at the end of a quiet path, the house, built by a family ancestor at the end of the 18th century, is surrounded by fields, gardens and an orchard maintained by a gardener.

Maintained and regularly renovated with the greatest concern for the authenticity of the place, this family home is ideal for spending a weekend or a holiday with friends or family. In summer, the place is perfect for a horse training course, all seaside activities thanks to a sailing club or to hike.
The house is located between the medieval city of Coutances and the port of Granville from where we see Mont Saint Michel and the starting point for an excursion to the island of Chausey.
You can also visit the D-Day landing beaches an hour's drive from the house.

The house consists of a small fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a fireplace so large that one can sit on it, a living room with piano and tv, six bedrooms and three bathrooms . It can easily accommodate from 12 to 14 people. Two of the bedrooms have their own private bathroom and toilet, the other four are ideal for couples or children.

The garden and the orchard benefit from the care of a gardener all year round. The land is not entirely fenced. There are only a few car passages (postman and a neighboring family) per day since we are almost at the end of the dead end.

The house has parking for cars, TV, wifi connection, barbecue and garden equipment. For safety reasons concerning children, we did not wish to install an above-ground swimming pool. The sea is 3 or 4 km away.

The kitchen is small because it occupies its traditional location behind the stairs. We recommend our guests not to hesitate to grill in the fireplace, it is also its use and equipment is provided. The kitchen is however fully equipped to meet the needs of a large household: a 4-burner stove, an oven, a microwave, a large fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, a coffee maker and a kettle and a Magimix 5200L robot. A second fridge is available in the building adjoining the house.
All the dishes are available in the built-in buffet in the great room.
A washing machine is also at your service.

Bed linen and towels are not usually provided, but can be rented for an additional € 10 per person. Please inform us of your possible choice at the time of booking.

The rates vary according to the season, please refer to the calendar.
During the high season as well as during the Christmas holidays, the rental is done per week from Saturday to Saturday and the daily rate is € 160 per day at Christmas and € 160 per day in summer.
In low season it is possible to rent at negotiated prices for 2 to 4 people.

All accommodation is available from your arrival (around 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.) and until the morning of your departure (10 a.m.). You will be greeted by the housekeeper responsible for making you aware of the house.
The house can be a bit difficult to find as the road loops. The landscape is a bocage full of paths and small lanes without official nomenclature.
