About this villa rental
Poseidon House is an exclusive, private and stunning villa with a unique natural rock swimming pool, close to the northern most Tip of Borneo. It is set in over 3 acres of private and beautiful tropical gardens next to a secluded white-sandy beach. The house stands on a 26 meter high rock outcrop with outstanding panoramic views of the Tun Mustapha Marine Park, which has 35 offshore islands, coral atolls and crescent beaches. Poseidon House gives a true feeling that you are living in tropical Borneo with bejewelled butterflies, exotic birds, colourful insects, mischievous squirrels and all sorts of tropical flora. The house is the epitome of pure relaxation all in one hideaway with no urban pollution or noise to disturb you. It is tropical Borneo at its very best.
The house itself is spacious, bright and airy, fully air conditioned with ceiling fans, and panoramic decks. Rooms have large, glass windows to make the most of the views out to sea. There’s a large open plan and fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge with satellite TV and surround sound stereo. The main feature is the great outdoor deck area with tables and chairs, sun loungers and barbecue. There’s also a lovely shady swimming pool pavilion for quiet reflection, reading or a quiet drink. At night, the pavilion can be turned into a tropical sleep experience, with the warm sea breeze and its’ waves gentle lapping on the beach below, lulling one to sleep, a feeling of tranquillity and peace abound. The 40 foot long natural rock swimming pool is the only one of its kind in Malaysia. With its infinity edge, it serves to cool guests after a long day of beach activities or local shopping.
The tropical garden stretches down to the secluded mile long beach 80 feet below the house. Follow the flower lined winding path downwards and you will find the house is next to one of the most diverse coral reef ecosystems in the world! With beautiful and pristine white sand, your only companions will be local fishermen casting their nets into the azure blue waters as generations before them did. You can stroll along the beach or perhaps jog to the end of the mile long bay or just slip on your fins, snorkel and mask and swim to the stunning coral reef (snorkel equipment not provided). Simply snorkelling will reveal a bewildering array of dazzling tropical fish, the occasional lobster and marine life as you would see in any diving magazine.

Spent a week at Poseidon House after travelling around Sabah for 10 days. We were looking for relaxation and found it with the beautiful pool and awesome views looking out across the bay. The house is immaculate and has everything you need to stay and chill or to get out and enjoy the sea and surrounding area. The house is built and cleverly positioned for shade and sun and to catch breezes day and night. The location of the house is completely private and secure. Do not miss the night sky, with no light pollution, the Milky Way lights up the whole vista of the sea and the islands beyond.
The nearest town of Kudat is 10 minutes’ drive away and there is a wide selection of very good value restaurants so that you do not need to cook. Kudat also has markets for vegetables, locally produced food, fresh caught seafood and small supermarkets. We found everyone welcoming and helpful, smiles everywhere.
We loved Sabah and will return with friends and family. We travelled around but next time will use Poseidon House as our base as connections by road and cheap airfares are excellent.
Finally our hosts were on hand to help us with every enquiry, with recommendations and insights on the area. They are passionate about their home and conserving the natural resources of this beautiful part of the world. Equally they were passionate about ensuring that Poseidon House was perfect for our holiday, and it was. Thank you so very much Fran and Ray!

We had an amazing two weeks at Poseidon house. Before we got there Ray and Fran were really helpful answering our questions and advising us on planning our trip.
Whilst we were there they answered any questions we had quickly by email.
The house is beautiful and confortable with everything we could need. The pool was incredible, as were the views.
There were lovely places close buy and everyone was really friendly.
The highlight for us was the reef on our doorstep. We spent most days swimming there and saw loads of amazing fish, coral and even a turtle.
It was such a relaxing trip and I would recommend it to anyone. Our kids are 6 and 9 and they loved it too

Staying the Poseidon house for three days was the most leisure and free time in our Sabah holiday. The house would definitely enrich your imagination for a private villa which is absolutely quite only with some natural sound from bird, sea wave and puppies. The three dogs are adorable and very close to the guest, I think maybe the owner has taught them to protect guests so they always follow you and being around especially when you go down to the beach. The villa build on two huge stones and also maintain the original shape of the stone so you can see the edge is still in the bedrooms. It's been well designed with very art atmosphere by artificial antique and paintings in each room. I loved backstroke in the pool at the night with stars above. The villa was fully equipped so you just need to bring some food to there. The only inconvenient of the villa is the steep slope from the main gate to the house, every time we felt very nervous to drive and almost slipped down once. Overall it's out of our imagination with such beautiful house, sea, pool and dog. It's worth to drive 3 hours from KK and remember to bring enough food when you come.

Enjoyed a great 7 day holiday at Posidon House. The villa was perfect for our family of 5. The children particularly enjoyed the fantastic pool - the water was unbelieveable warm.
The villa itself was amazing - even better than the photos. Each bedroom had a great view, a seating area and a spaciuos bathroom. The view from the lounge with the large glass doors was fantastic - I could have spent all week sat on the balcony watching the odd boat pass by.
The villa staff were very good. We could not fault the cleanliness of the villa or the services they provided - from the breakfast to the assistance with the kayaks and market shopping. All the meals we had prepared were excellent.
We were fortunate enough to be there for a few days whilst the owners were around - they were extremely welcoming and kindly spent time showing us how to snorkle and kayak safely and provided lots of information regarding the local area.
The villa was well located - only a short walk to the beach - which was lovely - perfect for a quiet morning run - in fact is was deserted all the time we were there - no matter what time of day- aside from a few locals fishing.
There is enough to see in the local area - more lovely deserted beaches and Kudat town is very nice and we found all the supplies we needed there. To be honest it was hard to drag ourselves away from the villa and the beach. We particularly liked the fact that this area of Sabah is so unspolit - we didn't another western tourist all week.
The children really enjoyed our half day jungle survival training - run by the villa manger - the were wowed by the big knives and fire lighting.
Would highly recommend this villa to anyone seeking a bit of luxury away from it all.
