About this castle / palace rental
Castello di Montegufoni is an exclusive location to spend wonderful holidays in the heart of Chianti Region.
Dating back to the 12th century and restored in the 17th century by the noble family of Acciaioli, the Castle has a magnificent tower built on the model of the one of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate comprising vineyards and olive trees and is surrounded by the beautiful Chianti landscape. In the castle there are 39 apartments and a large garden with a nice swimming pool: the perfect spot to relax and have fun with your family and friends.
The Chianti Region is one of the most renowned charming area in Italy for its cultural, historical and enogastronomic traditions. This luxurious Castle offers to our guests incredible holiday experiences (on request) such as cooking lessons, event location, guided tours and more!
Distances from the villa: the small village of Montagnana V.P. with food shops 1 km, Montespertoli with all kinds of shops approx. 5 km, Florence 20 km, Pisa approx. 70 km.
A bus stop with busses to Florence is only a few meters from the castle away. Bikes and scooters for rent are available in Montespertoli.
At guests’ disposal: large and very charming terraced park furnished with garden furniture and table tennis, beautiful Italian gardens (dating back to the 18th century) with lemon trees and swimming-pool (12 x 6 m - open from 01/04 to 31/10). Reception open from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30. The outbuildings of the castle as well were restored and turned into charming apartments. The castle is run by the Posarelli family. A nice restaurant offering nice recipes of the local Chianti tradition is open every night (from April to October except on Tuesdays). Laundry with shared washing-machine (€ 4,- / per washing). WI-FI internet connection available in some apartment, in the reception and restaurant area.
Extra services: on request possibility of renting a baby bed (€ 50,- / per week) and an extra bed (€ 100,- / per week) both payable locally.

Mezzanine ground floor: large living-room with dining area, kitchen corner (freezer, dishwasher, microwaves) and fireplace, double bedroom (air-conditioning) with ensuite bathroom with shower, double bedroom (air-conditioning), 2 bathrooms with shower.
4 steps up: double bedroom (air-conditioning).
1st floor (small tower accessible via a wooden staircase): room with extrabed available upon request (air-conditioning).
Personal, furnished outdoor area with gazebo, table and chairs.
The following might be to be paid extra: Babycot, Final Cleaning, Heating, Late Arrival, Refundable Security Deposit in cash or by credit card, Tourist tax, Washing Machine.

The place is a bit tricky to get to if you're not used to driving on country roads, however, this is what makes it a bit more special. The location is beautiful , really nice surroundings, the castle itself is great and you must do a little explore, and there's also a nice little village next to it where we had a great lunch in a family run café with local dishes and wines. Within 5 minutes walk the opposite direction, you will find a great restaurant in an old monastery which is on the pricier side but very good value Getting to Florence took around 20 minutes and within For Italian standards, the rooms were a little tired and found some dried mosquitoes on the tiles, but generally clean. The pool was a great addition to the stay despite only using once due to the bad weather during our stay. The reception lady was very friendly and informative, the only thing that was miscommunicated was with the delivery of a birthday cake which we ended up receiving the day after

absolutely beautiful. The location is divine and the apartments were great for our family holiday. A perfect central spot to visit Florence, Siena, Pisa and all the beautiful towns in the Tuscany region.The apartments whilst clean and comfortable needed a few more things in the kitchen. The washing facilities were not great with one shared washing machine.
