This home is AMAZING!!! Beyond what we expected!!! Grateful - Thankful - Blessed to have been able to stay here . The view of Mt. Hood and surrounding areas were breathtaking!!!The owners were very generous in supplying various amenities and kitchen supplies - much more than what we were used to having at other places.Super convenient location to our son’s wedding venue at the Mt View Orchards!! All the Groomsmen were able to stay here and totally enjoyed their sauna, fire pit and hot tub!!! Gave them their own private area downstairs. Also we were able to host a small rehearsal luncheon which we cleared with the owners beforehand and it worked out perfectly with plenty of seating inside and out on their beautiful patio!!! Also loved the 2 dishwashers and the 2 sets of washer and dryers - so made it easy to get 7 loads of their bedding and towels in before we left!! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay in this beautiful and well laid out home!! Thank you SOOO much for sharing your lovely home with us!!!

Perfect family vacation in a beautiful home and setting. The home was comfortable, clean, and cozy. I appreciated the very well stocked and equipped kitchen! The views are exceptional and the grounds well kept, too. We love this location for the variety of activities from visiting farms to going to Hood River. My 3 year old grand daughter said she liked the house and wants to come back next summer!

Fabulous location and view. The house was immaculate and had a fully stocked kitchen. There were plenty of towels and sheets for our large group. Check in and checkout were very easy. There is a beautiful trail behind the house that is an easy hike. It was very hot weather and the downstairs bedrooms were warm but we would definitely stay here again. It is a paradise!

This house is awesome! The view of Mt Hood is spectacular! Looks like some trees were cut out to get the view. 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms is great. Kids loved the sauna and hot tub. Being able to run the gas fireplace in the morning for a few minutes is fun. The ducks loved the pond. There is a walking path just up behind the house next to a canal that is shaded and pleasant if you want to go for a walk. 10 minutes from Hood River. The closer you get to Mt Hood the bigger it gets. Being out in the country is nice. Its quiet and you don't have to deal with the traffic of being in town. The barbeque works great. Overall, a pretty great experience.

We stayed for 4 days with our adult kids and 4 grandchildren, ages 7-13 to celebrate my 70th birthday. The home was spacious, well appointed, and the views of Mt. Hood were spectacular. The large deck and grassy area were perfect for family games, and the stars at night were spectacular away from the city lights. We made day trips to Hood River and Lost Lake. We’d definitely come back.

Great views and excellent accommodations for our family during our time staying in the PNW for a family wedding. So many things to do and enjoy. Would love to come back again. The only issue we had was that one of the main floor bedrooms did not have a closet. As a result, formal wear for the wedding needed to be hung in the other bedroom.

This property was everything and more then I expected. It was beautiful and luxurious. We definitely were sad to be leaving! The views of Mt Hood were incredible from the living room and the deck. It was breathtaking! We had more than enough room for a group of 10 of us. We had an amazing time. However, the listing says there is a queen bed in the common area, but it’s actually a pull out couch downstairs. The pictures and listing made it seem like the queen bed was in the loft area but it was locked and not accessible.

We went to celebrate a family milestone birthday and couldn’t have found a better spot to vacation together. Just a short drive to town, breweries, cherry picking farms and river front. The house was well-stocked and well-maintained. Had a little trouble getting the house cool during an unusually hot spell but the property manager was very responsive and came to check it out right away, no issues at all. Good to know: The next door neighbor isn’t the friendliest. We were very respectful of their sign to drive slow and keep the dust down on the dirt road yet they complained we were speeding. Fortunately the property manager was quite understanding so we didn’t have any trouble. Overall we’d give this place a 10/10 and definitely stay again!

The house and the layout was very nice. The views of Mt Hood are impressive. We enjoyed some sledding in the back yard with the grandkids and the hot tub under the front deck for the adults. Hood River is only 15 minutes away and Mount hood Meadows skiing is only 20 minutes away. The whole area is lovely with plenty to do. The house was well stocked in all regards including, games, puzzles, linens, towels, spices, cooking and baking utensils, etc.. Heat and hot water all worked well. Beds were comfortable.. Loved it.

We had such a wonderful vacation at Mountain House! The place spacious, comfortable, and has everything we needed. We were there during a heatwave and the air conditioner kept us happily cool. We loved the hot tub and used it every evening. My parents enjoyed the sauna. The kitchen is indeed well-stocked, with not only all of the appliances and dishes you might need, but also an assortment of condiments and plenty of ice. And of course the view of Mount Hood was amazing - always changing with the time of day and the weather. We loved being between Hood River and Mount Hood and found plenty to do during the week that we were there. You have to drive quite a bit to really see the sites, but the scenery is stunning, so we didn’t mind. Overall, a fabulous trip in an interesting and beautiful location.

The place was really beautiful. About 30 min from Hood River. The view of Mt Hood from the living room is jaw dropping. Great layout with upstairs/downstairs to find e folks space. Only negative was that there were cobwebs on some of the windows and some of the dishware and cookware wasn’t super clean. But the kitchen is well stocked! Property manager was super responsive. I would recommend the place enthusiastically! I am already thinking of another trip there. Thanks for a great stay!

This was a great location with wonderfully comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen & plenty of bathrooms. However, we do have a few comments before you welcome the next round of guests. We would recommend (especially at this time of year) that whoever is in charge makes sure that the driveway is plowed & the water/hot water heater turned on. It took us a while to navigate the driveway in about a foot of snow at our arrival & figure out how to turn on the hot water (something that wasn't clear from the instructions). Perhaps it hadn't been inhabited in a while, but the place was pretty dirty. The dining table & placemats were coated with leftovers; the stove burners were crusted with old spills; and the mold in the master bath was pretty gruesome. Thanks for listening.

We had a great time at this house. It has spectacular views, wonderful spaces for hanging out with large groups and it was really well stocked. One of the greatest perks was actually having two dishwashers. You don't realize how fast you go through things when there are 7 of you. It only takes 15 min to get to Hood River and ab out 5-10 min to wonderful farms and a sweet local market. I highly recommend the Hood River White House where you can get a flight of ciders to sample. The only downside is when the TV stopped working (froze). I called the agency that manages it around 5pm and by noon the next day I still hadn't heard anything. Around 3pm I called them back. After that I got a text in broken English telling me to do what I had already told the operator didn't work (unplug the tv and plug it back in, but the plug is inside the wall). If this happens to you, the breaker box in the downstairs laundry room (there are two of those as well) connects to the TV. We will definitely go back!

We loved our stay in the Mountain House! It was the 2nd time I've stayed and it was just as gorgeous as the first time. My friends and I loved the view, the well appointed, very clean home, and our time together. It worked perfectly for a work retreat! Next time, I hope to bring the family!

There were several hours each day when the glare made it impossible to sit facing that way. Given how nicely appointed the house is, this seems like a serious ommission. Two other notes: 1) We were surprised to find that the loft was inaccessible; the ladder was pulled up and locked with a bike lock. We didn't need the extra bed, but we were never asked if we needed access and it would have been awkward if we had counted on using the bed in that area. 2) There is an odd architectural feature -- an opening between the kitchen and the stairway to the lower floor. So sound from the second floor goes directly downstairs. This can be a problem if someone (like a toddler) is trying to sleep downstairs and people are in the living room or kitchen.

We arrived after dark and were pleasantly surprised by the view of Mt. Hood the next morning! WOW! We had wonderful weather while we were there, so experienced beautiful views most days and some really pretty sunsets. We loved the set-up of the house. There were eight of us and we were not the least bit cramped. Everyone had their privacy. The kitchen is unbelievably well stocked with just about any kitchen tool you could possibly need. Very nice decor. It was a great experience, thank you so much! Note: Just a couple things that you could do to make this property even better...1) Update the bedding (it's old and doesn't smell fresh) 2) New towels (or launder them in such a way as to get the wet towel stench out of them)

The Mountain House mad for a great getaway. It's close proximity to Hood River and Mt. Hood, ample space for entertaining/eating together, and bedrooms of various sizes makes for the ideal long weekend/week away from Portland. We were also very impressed by the kitchen--it is fully stocked with utensils and staples. We have stayed at the Mountain House each of the past five summers and look forward to staying there again in the future.
