About this house rental

LOOKING NORTH - Large, vacation rental in a rural setting on Mount Hood just up the valley from Hood River. Just a few minutes to backcountry fun. Stunning Mt. Adams view from every room. Large deck with Mt. Adams view, hot tub, sauna, A/C, Wi-Fi, great room, wonderful master suite, office, garage & more.

Well-appointed kitchen has a island, eating area and sitting area. Plus a large outdoor gas grill. Dining table comfortably seats 10 people. We also leave out spices, oil, vinegar, and some simple baking supplies (flour, sugar, corn starch) so that you don’t have to bring them all.

The house is on 5 private acres.

Bedroom 1 - main level - King with private bath (bath 1)
Bedroom 2 -lower level - Queen with shared bath (bath 4)
Bedroom 3 - lower level - Queen (bath 3)

We were in Hood River for my nephew's wedding and had a wide age range staying at the property from my 81 year old Mom to my 8 month old granddaughter and the layout of this home worked perfectly! The downstairs bonus room was complete with toys, games, video, etc. and the added benefits of the sauna and hot tub were enjoyed by all. The hosts were so accommodating and communicative with us as well as sending very detailed instructions and directions to find the house. The actual property is very well maintained and the views are incredible! We would definitely recommend and stay here again!!

This is the 5th or 6th time we have rented the Mountain Home. Love this place. Suits our group of 8 very well. Amazing view and location, super peaceful. This an owner managed VRBO, which is much better than dealing with a property management company. Larry is super responsive and an excellent host.

This house was a perfect landing spot for a week with my adult kids and granddaughter. Private setting with a beautiful mountain view, well-stocked kitchen, toys and games, and plenty of space to spread out including an office for one who needed to work. We enjoyed the big deck, fire pit and hot tub. And the location was so convenient for visiting fruit stands, wineries, a lake, and the town. We did indeed love staying here!

My family and I stayed here for my brothers wedding weekend. I have small children and this property perfectly accommodated them. There were play toys, beautiful grass lawn. The house easily and comfortably held the adults. The view is spectacular. Our host even left a bouquet of flowers for our arrival. I would love to stay here again. We stayed at the house for a family get together with relatives who live out of state. We all were really comfortable, with plenty of room to spread out but also cook, eat meals, and play games together. Staying over New Years, the weather was cloudy but not too cold or snowy. On the third morning of our stay we awoke to a clear day and the brilliant view of Mt. Adams. Spectacular! Most of my family enjoyed the sauna and hot tub, especially after hiking, snow shoeing, and skiing. We would definitely stay here again. We will have fond memories of this trip for many years.

The kitchen was well stocked for large groups and the beds were all comfortable. Plenty of spaces to be together or apart. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Larry’s home in Hood River/Odell. The house was perfect for our group of 10 with plenty of room. The kitchen was well equipped for all our meals and deck and backyard served as wonderful spots to hang out and enjoy the gorgeous views. The location provided a great jump-off point for our activities on the river and only 15 mins from Hood River town. Would stay again!

We had a great stay at the Mountain Home. The house is a short drive to Hood River or Parkland. It is a great location and offers an amazing view of Mt. Adams from the deck and most rooms of the house. In addition to amazing views, it has a large flat lawn that is perfect to enjoy a sunny day and a hot tub to wind down after an active day on the river or trails. We have rented this home a few times and intend to do so again in the future.

This property was absolutely beautiful. It was clean, accommodating, it came with plenty of instructions for the sauna hot tub check in and check out and the thermostat. The house was well equipped with towels sheets and electronic hook ups. Our wedding party stayed all week prior our our Friday wedding right down the road and the memories made there we will never forget.

Absolutely loved this house, from the outdoor Hot Tub, indoor Sauna, huge living areas and great kitchen area with everything you may need! Only complaint is the upstairs hot tub in the master bedroom kept shooting out black mildew during our entire stay...think the internals of the jets need to be cleaned out. Other than that the entire house was perfect, about an hour drive in the snow to Mt Hood Meadows for Snowboarding and 10 min drive to the nearest town for groceries and shopping. My family and our kids had a great time in this house and would love to stay again in the future!

We had an amazing stay at this property. We had ages ranging from 5-65 and everyone had a great time. There are so many winter activities around the area and owner had extra equipment he allowed us to use! Owner even had the property Snow plowed during our stay. This place is great for large families, and very relaxing. We would definitely stay again.

We absolutely loved staying at this house with a spectacular view of Mt. Adams!! The house is spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, private, well stocked, and beautiful inside and out. We stayed here with our 3 adult kids, their spouses, and 2 grand children before our daughter's wedding. We are already planning a family reunion in a couple of years at the same house!

This home worked out perfectly for our family. Clean, NICE King bed :), plenty of space to spread out, great view from the deck. Here were some things for the owners eyes only . . . they were not bothersome and in no way impacted our stay, but just wanted you to know. Cleaning team was there when we arrived at 4:30 (not a prob, we enjoyed the deck) and we never quite got the hang of the stove? Seemed like it took a long time to heat up so I was sure we were doing something wrong. Also, the boys made due with their laptops, but they would have wanted their mom to book a place with ESPN readily available :) Thanks for a great stay - we would definitely come back. I'm trying to convince my husband to buy a new bed after staying in yours.
