Parking is available for a maximum of four vehicles. Winter parking may be more limited because of snow accumulation and required plowing routes.

The neighborhood

Chalet Camp Creek is located in the heart of Government Camp, surrounded by the year-round recreation of Mt. Hood.

Walk to local restaurants, bars, shops, and the general store, or head out for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, lakes, and scenic mountain adventures.

Approximate travel times:

• Govy General Store: Five-minute walk
• Summit Pass: 10-minute walk or two-minute drive
• Timberline Lodge: 10-minute drive
• Mt. Hood Meadows: 15-minute drive
• Portland International Airport: Approximately one hour

Summit Pass offers beginner-friendly skiing and snowboarding, lessons, rentals, dining, and snow tubing. During the winter season, the Timberline shuttle provides daily service between Summit Pass and Timberline Lodge.

A vehicle is recommended for exploring the greater Mt. Hood area. During winter conditions, four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, traction tires, or chains may be required. Always check current road and weather conditions before traveling. The road to the house and the parking area are plowed and it is a 2-3 min drive to Summit if you don't want to chain up.

OGood to know before you book

Chalet Camp Creek is built for two families or a larger group traveling together — plenty of room to spread out, plus parking for up to four vehicles.

To keep the forest peaceful for every guest, we ask for quiet hours from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., no parties or events, no smoking or drug use on the property, and a max of two daytime visitors beyond your registered group. Because some past guests have allergies, we're unable to host pets.

Before arrival, you'll get a short concierge check-in: a quick identity verification link (keeps everyone in the home safe) and a full digital house manual so you know exactly where everything is the moment you walk in. Check-in is 4:00 p.m., checkout is 11:00 a.m., and the firepit is available whenever local fire restrictions allow it.

Winter note: Mt. Hood weather is part of the magic. From December through March we recommend 4WD/AWD, traction tires, or chains for the drive up — the lot is plowed regularly, and Summit Pass is a 2-minute drive if you'd rather leave the car parked and ski in.

No AC but it is rarely needed. The mountain cools off at night as well.

Ski-In/Ski-Out

For the Adventurous! Take the Alpine trail down from Timberline. This trail ends at Summit Pass. Turn right near the cross town trail and cut through the woods down to the house with the red roof. This part is back woods, however, many people ski through here so there is usually a track created. Chalet Camp Creek is right next door to the house with the red roof! Reach out to your hosts should you want to try this and would like a picture of map of the trail/track.

Come for the mountain adventures. Stay for the forest views, fireside evenings, and hot-tub nights at Chalet Camp Creek.
