UMH Tarik Hotel

This hotel is right on the beach and with the incredible sea front view rooms it is worth it. The hotel itself is nice and has a restaurant that serves good food and a bar as well. However, the rooms are sub par. The beds are ok but not that comfortable. The balcony we had was tiny and barely fit one chair although there were two outside chairs stacked in our room. The air conditioner when turned on smelled awful like a mixture of mold and stale cigarettes. There appeared to be mold in the room although it was clean. The bathroom had a smell as well and the toilet made an awful noise after flushing and leaked water into the floor. The sound of the ocean waves was nice but you could also hear the traffic as well. It was not bothersome to us because I always bring a small sound machine to help with any noise. The pool is nice but appeared dirty as well. It was a bit too cold to enjoy but my son did jump in for a minute. The beach is amazing. You do have to climb over some big rocks but there is a small path that makes it doable. Once the tide comes in the water goes up to the rocks and you have to walk all the way down past the rocks where there is a small beach area where a lot of locals are. The staff is nice and welcoming and they have security always present. The gate from the pool to go to the beach is also guarded by security who keeps it locked from the outside, which is nice and safe and keeps other people that don’t belong out, however, the guard isn’t always there as he walks around the property and we had to wait a bit and bang on the surrounding glass/plastic walls to try to get in. All together this is by no means a 4 or 5 star hotel. But for the price and the outstanding view of ocean, mountains and city, and the wonderful restaurant with good prices, a pool, and free breakfast, it was an amazing deal and I would come back for the view and beach alone. Also, the cleaning ladies do not speak English but are very nice. We asked the front desk if there was a laundry facility where we could do our own laundry as we were traveling for over 2 weeks and only brought a weeks worth of clothes. We had done this at a previous hotel as well. The man at the reception desk told us it was no probelm at all and to just let the ladies know and they will take care of it for us. We used our Google translate app and worked it out with them. Later that evening they returned our clothes cleaned and folded with bill for nearly 40 Euros because they charged us per piece of laundry and not for a load of laundry. I was quite shocked and had no choice but to pay the bill that was a very unexpected expense.

Good budget hotel. They couldn't find my booking but staff was very helpful and gave us the room

Breakfast abit too basic. Room was good. Hotel abit far from the centre around 5 miles walk. No sure if its worth the price I paid. The hotel setting is abit old, old wardrobes and dusty. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
