Sunset Beach - a std house that sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms

Had a great time at this cottage. Superb location in Croyde with plenty of space inside and out (including parking). 10/10 all round

Stayed here with a few mates as we were looking for somewhere spacious, did not disappoint, was a great location to explore the area , very comfortable, clean and well equipped with great Wi-fi

Sunset beach is very spacious and homely accomodation in the heart of croyde village. The property was very clean and had everything we needed for our holiday. Would definately recommend, the photos do not do it justice.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Sunset Beach. It's a lovely house and the location is excellent. You can walk to the village in about 5 mins, which is great in the evenings if you want to go out for a drink or a meal. The house itself is very spacious and all the bedrooms are a great size. It has pretty much everything you need- apart from a tumble dryer which would be useful. We have already booked for next year, we have stayed in lots of different holiday homes in Croyde over the years but Sunset Beach has become our favourite!

Just back from a week staying at Sunset Beach in Croyde. Exceptionally clean and well equipped, the 4-bed house was perfect for a family of 6 adults, a toddler and a baby. Minutes from the beach and village centre, we were also ideally placed for exploring the coast north to Woolacombe and south to Saunton Sands. Highly recommended. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at sunset beach, beautiful upside down house. Bedrooms all ground level and open plan living, kitchen and dining area upstairs. Balcony to the front a nice place for your morning coffee. Property is well equipped, good quality and very comfortable. Lovely garden space for relaxing in, also well equipped although the loungers are in need of updating. Village post office is small but just what you need for last minute emergencies, shop for pasties, shop for ice cream and 3 excellent pubs, what more could you need. Village also holds mini markets on certain days. Beach a 10 minute walk, generally flat all the way there. Clean and safe. Possibly the only thing was, we didn’t eat in the garden due to the layout of the house, moving food up and down the stairs constantly, wasn’t what we needed on holiday ! ‍♀️

Such a pity there are not footpaths into the village - with children, you take your life in your hands having to walk up the sides of the road. The house was generally clean, although the cafetière was most definitely not, and other items were found dirty - those items not put through the dishwasher between guests, are meant to have been hand washed by the cleaners, but we are certain that had not been done. The house is meant to sleep up to 8 people, in 4 bedrooms. We never had more than 6 there, but there was not enough cutlery to do more than one meal before running the dishwasher - another set of cutlery is a small outlay, but would make a huge difference. Also, in the bathrooms there are no hooks to hang towels, dressing gowns etc, and nowhere at all, other than the side of the bath, to put wash bags etc. Shelves and hooks would make a massive difference to the overall impression of the house. Some of the appliances (dishwasher, and the fan in the ensuite bathroom, for example) struggled to function properly - perhaps someone needs to stay there to give it all a test drive. Such a shame to have gripes when paying such a high price for a few days away - in a lovely house, in such a beautiful area.

We had an amazing holiday. The house was beautifully decorated, clean and extremely comfortable with an amazing view of the sunset and beach from the lounge window. The garden was superb and we made good use of the bbq facilities. I would highly recommend staying at sunset beach we couldn't fault it.

It was absolutely brilliant - everything we wanted it to be for our sons first holiday. Can’t wait to come back!

The property was fine and ideally situated for Croyde beach and town. It was reasonably well equipped although some items had been removed due to the pandemic situation, but surprisingly not the out of date visitors book.Despite giving the cleaning team an extra 9 hours Covid cleaning time (3hours x 3cleaners) which was taken from our holiday time, it was difficult to see how this time had been spent.There was dust on the door architraves, the front door handle had body fat residue on it, the shower heads had black mould on them,the mircowave was stained inside, the iron was unusable due to debris on the sole plate, and the garden furniture in the outside store still had others food debris on it. he fridge was inadequate in size and the door was faulty so didn't keep food cold. We had to eat out most days as a result.The freezer compartment was dirty and had others ice trays inside.They were only a couple of bin bags left for our use.We also had to buy toilet rolls as there were only 1 1/2 rolls in each toilet. There's no Covid excuse for this !There was no welcome pack at all, only a few dishwasher tabs.This was particularly disappointing as when the 6 of us arrived we then had to go shopping, not even some milk and tea bags for a cuppa after a 6 hour drive.We then had to unload the dishwasher and put everything away.Not the best start to our holiday.The property manager Clare was described as feisty by the travel agent but she was in fact very rude and put the phone down on me when I queried the additional cleaning time required and the fact we had to vacate the property by 9.00 am on leaving day. We were threatened that the cleaning team would be on the door step ready to move in as we moved out. They were still not there at 9.25 am!We also had to remove all of the bedding, sheets, pillow cases, mattress protectors, towels, tea towels and oven gloves and correctly put them in tattered and torn old bags, failure to do this was subject to a deduction. Whilst I can understand that this can help the cleaning staff, it's their job and our holiday and if they have the right PPE then this shouldn't have to have been done by us, particularly when having to leave by 9.00 am. We were also given no notice that the gardener would show up and we looked out of the downstairs bedroom window one morning to see him cutting the grass. Also there was no warning of the window cleaner turning up either.Nice property very poor property manager & management.

The lovely open plan living space upstairs allows for plenty of light and views over the bay, useful having a loo upstairs too (which isn’t mentioned on the website I think). The ground floor bedrooms have an ideal layout for two families or four couples. The safe back garden is ideal for young children. I’d recommend a larger fridge for catering for Eight people and a tumble dryer or washer dryer would be helpful. Location is great bring close to the village centre and a short walk to the beach. Overall we had a fab holiday, thank you team.

Sunset Beach is an excellent, spacious and very comfortable holiday home, well situated with easy access to both the centre of Croyde and the beach.

The location of this house in Croyde is excellent - short walk to lovely surfing beach - pubs etc. The house itself is well equipped and has lovely views from the lounge upstairs. The weather wasn’t particularly kind to us so we spent more time in the house than we had planned but it was warm and cosy and you could just see the waves crashing around the cliffs.

Overall we were impressed with the property. Location is as great. However A few things like lawn not being mowed, no access round the back to the garden and cracked bath panel let it down a little

A lovely, upside down house in a fantastic location in the beautiful village of Croyde, the house was tidy and clean (as a clean freak i only had to clean one bathroom sink and dust the tv cabinet) before settling in really comfortably. (Always bring bleach on holiday, but it stayed in the box this year) Really well equipped, and the management company responded quickly to resolve a problem with tv and bins and replaced the tv box that same afternoon while we enjoyed the beach! A great sized house with lots of storage for the seven of us, good quality and plenty of bedding towels, and kitchenalier, we had another brilliant week in our favourite place, lovely big sunny garden with summer house, seating and Bbq. the only improvements would be better wet suit cleaning and storage facilities without trekking sandy wet wetsuits through the bedrooms to the garden eg an outside tap/shower at the front of the property and a hanging rail in the shed! And possibly a bigger fridge for a family of 8! Lovely house, with all the finishing touches we’d definitely stay again thank you!

Four gentlemen meeting up to cycle the Tarka Trail and enjoy the Devon countryside. One of the best short break holidays we have had. A nice house well equipped providing all we needed for an enjoyable stay. A great location within easy reach of local resources, plus we enjoyed fantastic weather for our week. Will come again!!

This is a very child friendly, well equipped house. We were two families with young children and we lived with plenty of space. The garden was very secure so the children could play safely. The position is great, with the beach only a five minute walk and the village too. The village is so quaint with everything you need. A fantastic find for us.

We had a lovely weekend stay here with friends, the views were stunning, very clean property with great amenities and comfortable beds!.

We stayed at Sunset Beach with our children and young grandchildren and the cottage suited our family perfectly with plenty of rooms to accommodate us all. The terrace allowed us to keep an eye on the children playing in the large back garden. The upstairs veranda was lovely for the grown-ups to spend the evenings watching the beautiful sunsets. The closeness to the wonderful Beach was brilliant. An excellent stay
