Stunning country Cottage in Westfield, East Sussex.

The cottage is very comfortable and quiet - perfect for 2 people who want to get away from tourist spots but still close enough to visit. Harrison was very helpful and responsive. Village pub is easily walkable and very friendly and welcoming Would highly recommend

The cottage was everything we hoped for: a lovely place, in a gorgeous, quiet setting, perfectly located for visiting the area. This is only the tiniest of quibbles, but it could do with a more thorough welcome note, spelling out what to do about tedious but essential things like the bins and so on. But it was easily figured out with a couple of messages to Harrison, so all good. (And this really is nit-picking, but someone needs to sort out the booklets and magazines in the drawer under the TV on local attractions - it's 2025 and we found some from 2019!) But, honestly, we don't want to be those pernickety people - and we thoroughly recommend.

Very peaceful

First the positive, this property is in a really nice setting, and on the face of it is a very attractive barn conversation. It falls down in two key areas, cleansiness and the quality of the hosting. Firstly the cleansiness: when you open the drawers they are scattered with crumbs etc from previous visitors and there were cooking trays that clearly still had food waste on them from previous visitors, not very nice. Secondly the hosting: I brought the cleaning issues to the attention of the host and invited him to walk the 20 yards from his house to see what I was complaining about, he chose to email me an apology instead, but did not offer to rectify the situation. There was only one bath towel between two of us for two days, I emailed the host requesting an extra towel but my request was totally ignored. There was a dishwasher but no dishwasher tablets I emailed the host but again no response. I think the host here has a lot to learn about hospitality and communication, you cannot run a business like this and be so hands off that you cannot even be bothered to step out of the comfort of your own home and help your customers, or pretty soon you won't have any. Interestingly reading the guest comment book we are not the first visitors to face these issues!
