Rocky Guesthouse

We only stayed one night, but it did the job well. The room is quite basic, but both the AC and fan worked properly, which made a big difference for comfort. We had a good night’s sleep. The location is very convenient, making it easy to get around and explore Hampi.

The lighting could be improved. There was only a main ceiling light with a strong white tone, so a cosier bedside lamp would make the room feel more comfortable, especially in the evening.

The quality of the room, given the remote location, exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the service from the hotel staff and their rickshaw driver was very very good. I was very well supported as a solo traveler.

Very central good location in Hampi. Despite that there was a big festival on, the room was quiet. Rocky arranged the pick-up from Hospet and also a Tuk-tuk for sightseeing. There is a good view of the temple from the rooftop.

Slightly overpriced at the weekend. Had some problems with the air-conditioning kicking out.

Rocky is a wonderful host, and made us feel very welcome the whole time. He messaged us as soon as we booked to arrange our transport from the station. Check-in was straight-forward and the room was perfect for what we needed. We went for two delicious meals at Rocky's restaurant in Kamalapur too. Our auto-rickshaw driver Giri (who Rocky organised) was so friendly and helpful the whole time. He took us to see all the main attractions over the course of our three days, giving us lots of information about the places we were seeing. Rocky also booked our next flights for us, as we had been unable to book them without an Indian bank account, which helped us hugely. The location is superb, as it is only a couple of minutes walk from the Virupaksha temple and easily walkable to many other sights and attractions.
